While I understand the concept behind not wanting exes at your wedding, I think there's a difference when that person has been part of the new couple's life. I mean, Robin has hung out at Stella's house.

I thought they were working a typical sitcom thing where an unnecessary complication was arising from the Bride being Crazy but then they turned it around.

I don't think that's necessarily true. He could have been a one-night stand or married or just didn't want to be part of their lives at all. I thought it might be a ret-con and I'm sad that it is. This show is usually so good with the continuity!

I'm not really looking at it as a retcon, or I guess it's hand-wavable, particularly after last night's episode. Stella had (has) big-time Tony issues, so I can see her telling someone else that he's completely out of the picture, in an effort to convince herself that he's completely out of the picture.

I could buy this but the first time we see Tony w/ Ted it's obvious that they've met and had some sort of relationship before. And, as far as I remember, that hasn't been mentioned previously at all.

That's a good point, but a lot of Ted and Stella's relationship has taken place off screen, so I'm still okay with it.

I am going to miss Sarah Chalke. I'm mostly glad she's not the mother, but I really enjoyed her turn as Stella.

I was disappointed by The Office last night. Too much advancing the story lines, not enough funny. Almost soap opera.

Okay, the "let's hang around while Michael tells his mother he's engaged to Holly" part was pretty good.
