But now I have coffee. And a doughnut. Hmm. Possibly not the breakfast of champions. Am still feeling oddly woozy.
I have the slept-too-much-oddly-woozy feeling, too.
Though I think it's also a too-much-sugar-woozy feeling. Damn you, Little Debbie!!!
Ugh, me too on the first. And the B&J Coffee Heath Bar Crunch I just pulled from the freezer should take care of the second.
Andi, is Sammie still doing ok and it was just a tummy upset?
thanks for asking, d - she does seem to be much better. appetite is back to normal. she does not seem to be running around playing as much as usual, but then, Harvey is acting bossier than usual with her. that, I figure, has to do with the shift in her relationship with Daniel. Sammie has been feeling way more comfortable with Dan, and spending more time with him. Harvey may feel she is poaching on his territory, trying to become more socially dominant, so he has to assert his dominance over her - but in reality she just wants a bit more attention, and not to boss Harvey.
sigh.
Cat politics.
ION, Sammie is spending way more time with Daniel, leaving me to exclaim, "Huh. I'm going to have to get my own damn cat."
Alpha-bits.
Got Harvey's lab results back yesterday - mind you, this was all preventative, time for his annual shots and check up. I figured he's 9 now, and time for a thorough. All his numbers are good, except he was slightly dehydrated.
Huh, what?
I feed those cats canned food, and add a couple tablespoons of water to each portion - not to mention the nice water bowl they have. I'm a little astonished at the knowledge that even feeding wet food plus water is not enough to thoroughly hydrate a cat. But more importantly, I'm a lot worried about all those cats whose owners feed them dry food. They have to be chronically dehydrated.
So, would you switch to feeding raw? I've thought about it but realize that I don't even take that kind of time feeding myself.
Well, I've found myself in the midst of a project. I was cooking my breakfast/brunch and realized that my kitchen sink had slowed down beyond the workable point. I'm now plunging it - this task made more difficult because I have a double sink and no real way to plug one sink while plunging the other. Not really how I wanted to spend my Saturday.
I don't have dehydrated cats. My cats have a special source of extra water available to them whenever I am at home. They feel that the water in my drinking glass is far more delicious than anything I put down for them on purpose. Therefore, I am always shooing cats away from my water, complaining about the flavor of cat spit, and getting myself a fresh glass. I think they're into the entertainment factor.
Also I learned that if I put down an extra water bowl, say, in the living room, it gets more visits than their regularly scheduled water bowl.
Our cat Annie had a thing about drinking out of glass. Once my sister substituted an old pyrex measuring cup for her water bowl she was a lot happier but I still caught her with her whole head inside the water glass next to my bed more than once. Cat germs don't bother me too much (I have been known to share a caramel apple pop with Annie) it was her drinking the water from the xmas tree stand that gave me the squick.
Katie! Nice to see you.
I keep water around for the cat but have seen her drink from the toilet like a dog. She gets dry food. She is still in Florida and spends a lot of her time outside. I image she drinks from the lake too.
Ugh. Plunging not a good way to spend time.
