Spike's Bitches 37: You take the killing for granted.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Let somebody take care of you for a change, Suzi.

You were missed tonight.

I gave AmyLiz a haircut and she hung out at Chez Zmayhem, mostly playing with Matilda.

Then I drove her down to the hotel where Cass, Lee and Juliana are staying, and decided to have a drink with them so I could see Cass while she's here. We got a drink at the Empire Room - very nice, and then I drove Lee and AmyLiz over to North Beach so their night of debauch could begin.

I believe there were plans to Pretty Up at Juliana's place first.

Other new pictures from the Manteca tournament where they have the kid sized replicas of Major League fields.

Here's Emmett at the plate in front of the Green Monster at their Fenway.

Here's his mighty Varitek-like ass and thighs.

Here he is taking a lead. (Yeah, he stole that base.)

Why Matilda and Emmett get along.

Pirate baby reading about the Blues. (You can't say I'm not raising her right.)

Matilda gives the appraising look.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Pretty hair for AmyLiz!

Emmett is a superstar!

Matilda is amazing. She looks like she's already smarter than most people I know.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Emmett has such major league moves and attitude!

Yeah, you should have seen his play at the plate in Manteca. No contact is allowed, but the runner was coming hard and tripped on the seam in the artificial turf and he went hard into Emmett. But Emmett was all set and ready to take the hit and got the out.

The kid was ejected but he apologized to Emmett, who patted him on the shoulder and said, No biggie.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Matilda and Emmett are such cute kids. Is that the onsie I sent Matilda? She looks adorable in it.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

the 'Catholics aren't Christians' thing

You know, I'm sorry I evidently skipped past this conversation, as it sounds like a bit of a mind-boggler.

Happy Nora Day!

Also, PC, glad to hear that "Kelly Kapoor" is not without possibility. imho, Ugly Betty is cracking telly, and Grey's Anatomy is perfectly watchable. I'm sure you can get her sucked into appreciating Heroes and VM etc...

Matilda and Emmett - still cute.

Grandparents/aunts/uncles who call kids fat? Need to be beaten about the head with a fucking cluestick. Noticing if kids are fat and trying to help encourage them into healthy lifestyle choices without the put downs? That's great. Giving them complexes? Not even a little bit helpful.

Pet Peeve

....oh, now you know that my mental image involved Mr Reason in a cage. Aw. And it was simply ADORABLE.

...speaking of which, I'm presently on the island of Koh Samet with a bunch of colleagues where we've been celebrating a friend's birthday. (Last night involved much dressing-up-as-pirates and getting utterly wellied on the beach. Those of you who have facebook will eventually see photographic evidence. Oh, the silliness.) Anyway, this morning I was startled to see that the people dining at a table next to ours had a cat carrier containing a cat. Which they let out. It wandered around the beach between tables wearing an expression of nervous feline confusion and was occasionally scooped up and brought back to the table. But - dude, this island is crawling with stray dogs. Loads of them. They're all over the place. The cat was excedingly lucky not to find itself being chased around the restaurant - I'm not terribly hopeful for its chances in the near future.

I'm not telling The Cat Daniel about this, as he was a Home Alone Cat for the weekend, with a big mountain of biscuits and several bowls of water. (He really hates being put in the cat carrier and taken to cat prison, so I figure it's the lesser of two evils for him - at least he has some space and it's a familiar environment without any dogs, even if he's bored to tears.)

Now tagless for your comfort.

{{{Ginger}}} That sounds like a no good, horrible, very bad day. I hope things do get better.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I'm presently on the island of Koh Samet

I woke up this morning to NPR talking about the plane full of tourists that crashed in Phuket, and I just spent 15 minutes Googling maps of Thailand so I could figure out where Koh Samet is in relation to Phuket and Bangkok and if there was any way that Fay might have been on that plane. Yeesh!

(Logistically, no, it doesn't make any sense for Fay to have been on it. I'm assuming that Thai airline routes are more logical than American routes, where -- for instance -- if I want to fly from Ohio to Vermont, I get routed through Detroit.)

No worries, love - happily for me, Koh Samet is just a couple of hours' bus ride south and a quick speedboat ride. (I'm back in Bangkok now - it's quarter past ten.)

But holy crap, I understand they've found at least 60 bodies. How awful.

Fay, I'm glad you're safe and sound. I did the EXACT same thing, Teppy.
