the 'Catholics aren't Christians' thing
You know, I'm sorry I evidently skipped past this conversation, as it sounds like a bit of a mind-boggler.
Happy Nora Day!
Also, PC, glad to hear that "Kelly Kapoor" is not without possibility. imho, Ugly Betty is cracking telly, and Grey's Anatomy is perfectly watchable. I'm sure you can get her sucked into appreciating Heroes and VM etc...
Matilda and Emmett - still cute.
Grandparents/aunts/uncles who call kids fat? Need to be beaten about the head with a fucking cluestick. Noticing if kids are fat and trying to help encourage them into healthy lifestyle choices without the put downs? That's great. Giving them complexes? Not even a little bit helpful.
Pet Peeve
....oh, now you know that my mental image involved Mr Reason in a cage. Aw. And it was simply ADORABLE.
...speaking of which, I'm presently on the island of Koh Samet with a bunch of colleagues where we've been celebrating a friend's birthday. (Last night involved much dressing-up-as-pirates and getting utterly wellied on the beach. Those of you who have facebook will eventually see photographic evidence. Oh, the silliness.) Anyway, this morning I was startled to see that the people dining at a table next to ours had a cat carrier containing a cat. Which they let out. It wandered around the beach between tables wearing an expression of nervous feline confusion and was occasionally scooped up and brought back to the table. But - dude, this island is crawling with stray dogs. Loads of them. They're all over the place. The cat was excedingly lucky not to find itself being chased around the restaurant - I'm not terribly hopeful for its chances in the near future.
I'm not telling The Cat Daniel about this, as he was a Home Alone Cat for the weekend, with a big mountain of biscuits and several bowls of water. (He really hates being put in the cat carrier and taken to cat prison, so I figure it's the lesser of two evils for him - at least he has some space and it's a familiar environment without any dogs, even if he's bored to tears.)
