Thanks!
Its amazing what they can do in half an hour with a little composite and a spinny filey thing.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Thanks!

Ooh ooh ooh-ooh ooooh
I've got a pneumatic tube!
This theatre's pneumatic tube system works! I am so enjoying sending things from the snack bar to the countroom and vice versa. It works just like the internet! Except there's just the one tube. And no trucks.
Laga, how cool! I have always wanted to see one of those in action.
ION, she says casually, I posted a couple of pictures of our house in my LJ. [link]

Oh how precious! I love built-ins.
Thanks for the ~ma. I didn't find the meds, but the palpitations passed. I think I've been overdoing the caffeine the past few days -- that can bring this on.
Laga, that sounds like SUCH fun!

Robin, i'm 99% sure the main branch of the New York Public Library still uses theirs.
And the house is darling.
Debet, any of those options comes under the heading of doing a good thing, but taking in adult cats from animal control is definitely saving lives that are extremely unlikely to have a second chance elsewhere, so very good thing. But at the same time, I have pretty much always let my cats choose me (except for the one my dad got me when I was 8, and that was through a foster network), so in your shoes I would likely go to the pound, and see which cats make a connection.
It's also not a crazy thing to think that the HS puts more effort into socializing the animals in their care, so going to the HS shelter and seeing who is there waiting for you might more successfully combine doing the good of giving some deserving cats a good home, with your self-interest in finding cats who are more likely to fit harmoniously together in your household. At the humane society here, they have the adult cats together in one big room, so you can see how they interact. Of course, the social dynamics of a crowded space like that are very different from a home with just two cats, and your HS might be set up very differently as well. But you might be able to observe two who are good friends already, if you choose that option.
Best kitty-finding~ma to you.
Debet, glad to hear you will be enjoying new kitties, one way or another.
Our house is still chaotic with our new addition.
ION in a shift of gears from my horror work of late, I'm working on A Little Night Music tonight. I need to knock out the sound effects for the show. Thankfully there are only about 7 of them in the whole show.
New kitties! I have no opinion on where to get them, though.
Also, another semester, another round of bureaucratic weirdness. First, an email from the head of my department:
Dear Gang,
Someone posted a cartoon at the entrance to the main office early this morning. I am assuming there was no slur intended but such anonymous actions are always open to other interpretations. If it was one of you who taped it to the glass, please refrain from doing this in the future. If it was none of you then I have to give this a sinister interpretation.
Also, in each of our mailboxes today was a box of whiteboard markers and a memo that took an entire single-spaced page to say, "Here are some markers. Use them when you're teaching."
Hil, are you feeling better?
