You got all kinds of learnin' and you made me look the fool without tryin', and yet here I am with a gun to your head. That's 'cause I got people with me. People who trust each other, who do for each other, and ain't always lookin' for the advantage.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

He cooked potatoes, chilled them, put them through a ricer (or possibly put them through a ricer and THEN chilled them), mixed them with flour, [handwave handwave], rolled them into wee gnocchi, flung them into boiling water, and lo! pasta was born!

Step 1: Acquire ricer
Step 2: Prepare to make a lot of craptastic gnocchi
Step 3: Success!

He'll be back in a week -- were you going to be in Waterbury before then?

I am not sure when we are going to Waterbury, I just want to make sure that when we do, your brother will be there! (I may have panicked prematurely for no real reason) Our Vermont travelling plan sort of fell by the wayside when the Scotland thing came up. But, hey, we will still have vacation at the end of the month, and we DO have a nifty new car! So anything can happen, especially when good beer and good food is involved.

brillig

Last night was a bad night at Chez Neil. As Hubby put it, "the ghosts are crowding." He's been contemplating my old cat, wondering how much longer he'd been with us, which segued to him missing his old cat who died a couple of years ago and wondering if his refusal to admit how sick Mondu was led to Hubby not feeding him properly and making the poor old fur suffer. Then Hubby started scolding himself for feeling so upset for a "silly old cat who's been gone for years," and he started talking about all the people he's seen die or who he's had to pick up off the ground/highway/various places in his days as an ambulance tech.

So I got to hold him through an hour of grieving memories, and he had nightmares all night, and I'd put in a thirteen-hour day at work, and now I'm very, very tired.

My poor beloved needs to catch a break.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

um, what happened in Bureaucracy 4? Like a cajillion posts yesterday. Is it anything interesting, or should I just clear out all the new posts. I don't have time to pour thru all that.

MMmm gnocci. Never heard of it before, but I tried the Trader Joe's stuff. Fell in love with it instantly. Yum! I've had it at an Italian Restaurant, and it was even yummier. Surprised at how good the TJ's was compared tho, for a bag of frozen stuff.

Poll results came through, o_a.

Okay, SF-istas. As a preview for Tep and meara being in town next weekend, *I* will be in town next week.

S and I will be driving up early Tuesday, and will be staying through some time Friday (it's unclear when). Unfortunately I have to work that weekend, and it looks *highly* unlikely I'll be able to find someone to cover me for saturday or sunday, so I will most likely not be able to stay long enough to actually spend time with Tep or meara (though I'm still trying to find a replacement for those days).

Our schedule is a little loosey goosey right now. Primarily, we'll be in San Jose to spend time with Mom, sis, other sis, BiL, nephew and new neice (as well as dad and step-mom), so most of our time will be doing that, but we'd love to try and see some peeps while we're there.

Most especially, I'd like to see Hec, JZ, and new Matilda, if that can at all be arranged. I know a lot depends on scheduling from both sides, but I just wanted to give some heads-up.

Everybody comes to town while I am elsewhere! Unfair!

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Connie, I'm sorry to hear that.

Hec, much good wishes for your friend.

Today is made of fail. Fail, fail, fail. I am attempting to work from home today, because Tzepesh needed an emergency trip to the vet. Whitefonted for ooky: blood all over his butt. But other than that, there's nothing wrong. Tzepesh is his usual chatty, affectionate, playful self. But that's not a symptom to ignore, so off to the vet he goes.

To top it off, I can't log on to my work laptop so I can connect to the corpnet. Apparently it's been long enough since I logged on to it that I don't remember the password, and the only way to fix it is to take it to the office, connect to the corpnet there, and then have a technician come help me. I am NOT a happy cupcake of a goth today.
