Funny thing about black and white. You mix it together and you get gray. And it doesn't matter how much white you try and put back in, you're never gonna get anything but gray.

Swouncing

Emmett's laugh is so much like Bart's laugh it's a little unnerving.

It'll only be unnerving if you lose all your hair, change jobs, drop about a 100 IQ points, if JZ suddenly starts to wear her hair tall and blue, and if a girl suddenly appears and claims to be Matilda's older sister.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Imagining wee Matilda as Maggie will amuse me for a very large portion of the day.

The wide-eyed owlish stare while vigorously sucking on her pacifier? She's got that down pat.

Slate notes: The Los Angeles Times prints an essay by WWN writer Mark Miller, full of bittersweet dish. He writes that he was initially "confused about whether I was supposed to write true offbeat news, general satire or complete fabrication. So I asked. The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Not that I am avoiding work or anything.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I had a buffalo chicken sandwich, which was a little sweet and gloppy, but generally good.

Then I had to tell my minion that, of three possible conferences, she has to go to the one with the least-exciting location and the least-preferred other coworkers going. (Including our crazy boss.) Ah well. I guess that's what you get for beeing the n00b.
