I wasn't judging you, you know. Just talking about my experience.
All the stuff I use in a day can't theoretically fit in my living room, and the mess that it is would be dramatically increased if I move stuff around.
I know that sleep experts and love feng shui people say all you should do in your bed is sleep or have sex, but really. Computing, reading, sewing...plus I have a bed in the living room to further exacerbate the line blurring.
What's the difference between in your bed and on your bed?
For me, it's the under the covers thing. (even on hot days, I have to have a sheet covering me.)
I also don't want pets on my pillows. I don't always win that one, but I usually do.
When I had a studio, I had a murphy bed. Once I got up, I would fold it back up and there would be no bed. Certainly stopped the lounging during the day, but it was worth it, since it made it feel like a real living room when I came home from work.
Brenda--great place! I love the beautiful light you get from those many window. I also think the pass-through from the kitchen is a terrific detail. Also, cool wood floors. You done good!
I always loved having cats on the bed back when I had them. It's a different proposition with a hundred-pound-dog, though. She hasn't been a bed dog since she was very young.
Best part of the new place, besides the deck? [link] Inside that pillar that Katy (friend and agent) is leaning on? Brand new front load washer/dryer. And those wires sticking out of the wall? Surround sound.
Brenda, I love the great big deck, and the built-ins in the living room, and the marble kitchen counter/bar, and the way the toilet is tucked around the corner from the bathtub, and....well, pretty much all of it!
Party at Brenda's! (she has an awesome place!)
So jealous of the washer and dryer.
Dishwasher too. But damn, I've never had a w/d in any place I've lived (as an adult). And having it right there means I can basically use it as a hamper (my brother's brill suggestion), and for the first time in my life actually have clean clothes on a regular basis. Whoo-hoo!
