Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The morning commute was a bit more entertaining than usual today: [link]

Speaking of which, on the Whoppie Goldberg show this morning I found out that the Weinermobile recently got a parking ticket in Chicago. What kind of world do we live in, where the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile is not allowed to park wherever it wants?

Our wings are not tired.

Happy Birthday to Clara!

Good to see you, Gud. Stop that being all productive before breakfast thing. Or at least tell me how you manage it.

I really prefer fiction, because reading is all about escapism for me.

This is me. My book neighborhood book club picks way too many non-fiction books so I read them against my will, and don't like them. Don't need any more reality in my life.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. Misanthropes deserve work too!

This is what I'm saying! She sits at her desk and does a good job -- fine by me!

I also have to simultaneously keep the higher-ups more apprised of my work AND send them fewer emails. Awesome.

Would it have killed them to wait until P got back from her bereavement time? I mean the guy they fired last week wasn't stealing office supplies or showing up to work naked or anything, they just felt he wasn't catching on quickly enough.

Ugh, that is aggravating.

Matt, is that the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile???

Coding and Sleeping

Or at least tell me how you manage it.

Not getting enough sleep seems to be a key component.

OMG happy birthday pretty Clara!

Just promise me it'll be that temperature in 2 weeks, K?

Wait, you're going to be in San Francisco in two weeks, Tep? I only ask because S and I will be up in that area in about two weeks, too. We may wind up just missing each other, but if we're in town at the same time, we must see each other. What dates?

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I heard about that.

So now, no admins. We have one guy doing admin type stuff part time, but that's it. Needless to say, when you have no admins, nothing gets done properly, and everyone else is way more stressed.

My coworkers hate it when I'm not here. They're dreading my going to New Orleans at the end of the month, and vacation in November is going to cause a panic because I will be completely unreachable. What's sad is that I know I'm going to leave, and I don't think they'll be able to get anyone with my abilities and experience for the money they offer. They're going to have to waaaaay pare down their expectations for the next person.

Lastly, damn but the Buffistas produce heart-stoppingly cute kidlets!

Ah, this must be what I heard about then.

God, I'm missing San Francisco weather.

Not getting enough sleep seems to be a key component.

That's true for me, too, Gud! When I am overtired, I am more zombie like, and way more productive as a result. It's like I don't get distracted as easily or something. It's so wierd.
