"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Thing is, later on in the "other samples" there are ones that actually make sense and look like the same kid. And there's a really nice clean-up of an old damaged picture. So the freaky "totally different child" pictures are that much more strange.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I believe it was in this thread that I expressed some doubts about homemade vegan fake cheese. I hereby rescind those doubts. I tried a recipe tonight, and although I've got no clue how it happened, this particular combination of carrots, tofu, nutritional yeast, miso, mustard, lemon juice, and nutmeg tastes just about exactly like Cheez Whiz. It's a little bit freaky -- I'm generally pretty good at tasting something and being able to break down the flavors and figure out the ingredients, but in this, even knowing what's in there, I'm not tasting any of the components.

Skippity to post that, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is Sheryl and her DH's anniversary.

Happy anniversary! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year!

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

My mom called me tonight to tell me that she googled herself and then googled me, and we both turned up on the third page. I don't know what scares me more: my mom having mastered the art of googling, or the fact that she found me at all. I probably should be more upset about the fact that I don't turn up for three pages, but I really haven't done much worth googling.

Happy Anniversary, Sheryl & DH!

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I think I made a meara...

Cilantro – best chopped with onions.

Grapefruit – best eaten in sections with pistachios on the side.

Olives – best are the small green ones with the big pits. I think they’re Spanish- they have a very nutty taste.

Root Beer – IBC is the best but I will drink Barqs because it has caffeine.

Bagel – Lenders because I don’t feel stuffed after I eat a whole one and they have the right texture. When I was growing up there were quite a few houseguests whose first bagel ever was a Lenders in our kitchen. Can you believe there was a time when people hadn’t heard of bagels? Or nachos?

Bacon – Best baked... so far. I must try the pancakes!

Tomatoes – Best with fresh basil and buffalo mozzarella.

Calamari – Best with the whole body thrown out. Cook just the legs (the smaller the better) over high heat in garlic olive oil until crispy and dark brown around the edges. Squeeze a lemon. Nom nom.

Eggplant – yay!

Pineapple on pizza – Best with pepperoni.

Anchovies – no thank you!

Caviar – don’t tell but I really don’t see what the big deal is. I will ooh and ahh over caviar for the sake of ceremony but they just taste like little explodey balls of salt to me.

Tea- I intend to steep herbal tea for five minutes and black tea for three but I usually over brew both. I need a penguin! I often add milk.

Beer – Guinness, please.

Scotch – Yes, or bourbon. To me the one true Eggnog has Evan Williams and a grating of nutmeg.

Tequila – I should probably stick to champagne.

Fernet - never tried but I suspect... see above.

Sleep - back and side.

Fork - right hand. I switch with my knife & I so don’t think about it that I had to pretend to eat to be sure. Of the three boys here with me, two of them (the ambidextrous ones) eat willy nilly. The lefty keeps his knife in his left hand and his fork to the right.

Watch - Left hand, face down.

I am right handed.

Manband – boo.

Chicken pad chicken pad chicken pad thaaaaaaiiiiii – I think I just fell in love with aimee.

Another trivial thing that bugs me - people who drive convertibles with the top down but the windows up. It's aesthetically wrong!

Oh but that keeps me from getting whipped in the eyes by my hair or having to wear a scarf.

It was a dog from 7-11, so I ate it here at the office.

I so took this the wrong way while skimming.

Happy Anniversary, Sheryl & DH!

edited multiple times because, Yay Guinness!

OK. Way creepier. They put a new mouth on the kid because she wasn't smiling.

And "Doll Eyes" were added. It's not even the same kid anymore!

Happy Anniversary, Sheryl and DH!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Oh, the LOLCat o' Death made my morning.

I'm really intimidated by the SQL test this morning. Last night I was "oh, I can work through each of these problems in turn" and this morning, my feeling is that I'm sunk and I might as well go look for work in the exciting world of Burger King.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.
