Supernatural 1: Saving People, Hunting Things - the Family Business
[NAFDA]. This is where we talk about the CW series Supernatural! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
that was just a guess, like I said, I'm way way rusty. For all I know it's "Steve".
I'm on the side of Uriel being quieted by the thought of being reported to The Man by Castiel, although not knowing much about where Castiel lies in the heirarchy of angels, it's hard to say. I want to watch that scene again anyway with the knowledge that it was indeed a test.
I got a feeling that both angels were of equal, um, clout? No, status? Better. Just in different specialties. Castiel is a soldier, Uriel's a cleaner. Both have equal access to God's ear, neither has rank. Of course that's just an observation based on which of them dominated at different points in conversation, between themselves or with various Winchesters. And I'm totally going on observation here, I could be way off-base.
See, that thing with Shaun Cassidy in Bitches the other day, and well, Sean. And I have a friend named Shawn, and she's a girl. I dunno. Gonna fall back to Whedon and name 'em all Bill.
Eh, Google tells me that it is "Shivon" (shive-on or shy-von).
Maybe Uriel is like a former co-worker of mine, we'll call her Maura to protect her identity, who was on equal footing with me, but as soon as the top dog left, she began acting with more authority and power than she was supposed to have, and unless one of her equals reigned her in and called her on her shit, she did in fact become more powerful.

This. At least that's how they say it and spell it in Ballykissangel.
Oh, Siobhan? Yes, Shivawn. Naeve=Neeve. Fionuhala? Fiona. Or Finola, depending. Maeve? Um, Mave. Maire? Mayree. Kieran, Ciaran? Kyr-an. Cerridwyn, Ciardwen? Keyerdwin. Said really fast like "the key-er would win". Celtic Cs are always hard. Boston Celtics are the exception. Signed, formerly obsessed. Please don't ask me about Welsh, I have NO clue.
I think my Dad's dad's people spoke Scots Gaelic, apropos of not very much. Was common enough in Nova Scotia enclaves, go fig.
I am trying to get Jilli on board with my Earth 2 fanwank for shit like Samhain. Honestly, it helps with the exploding brains.

Care to expound?

I heard once (I have no idea if it's correct, but the source was a believable one), that Scots say
celtic
with the soft
C
and Irish say it with the K-sound or hard
C.

Was he from Cape Breton?
I wonder if your Earth 2 fanwank has anything in common with mine. Supernatural is set in an alternate earth where the supernatural is real, and very similar to many of our own earth's urban legends and popular cultures. So in that earth it really is "Sam Hain" and it really is the "The book of revelations".
Cindy, I think so, but I will have to ask. He was born on PEI, but they moved around a lot, and weren't originally from there. That is the branch of the family that is hard to trace.
Bev: Earth 2 = comic book alternate earth. Jilli doesn't believe the fanwank, nor will she accept the Superboy Prime punched a hole in reality excuse.
