Okay, did you guys not see, just after Bobby drove off and the boys were leaning up against the Impala, Sam asked what Dean had really seen, and Dean looked at him? Sam's eyes clouded over yellow for just a second. And Dean said "howler monkeys" (which I'm taking as a Buffy shoutout), and looked away. Y'all didn't see that?

Not Bev, but at the very end of the episode, Sam's eyes flashed yellow again. Dean nearly shi...choked.
eta: xposty heh.
Oh good, Austin. I was afraid it was just me.
Okay, no, I didn't see that.
Huh.
Also - Scaredy Cat Dean is adorable.
Sahjahn! Thank you - I couldn't figure out where I knew him from.
Yay Morgana's Mom, she of good taste!
I was doing something at work for a lady (I think she was in her 70's) and she asked me if I watched any tv. Heh. "Yeah, a little." "Well, honey, you should watch The Mentalist. I can't remember which night it is on, but the actor in it is delicious."
If I could have done a spit take, I would have.
Oh, I totally didn't see that, Bev. I'll have to watch it again!
I'll have to watch it again!
Such a hardship, I know. *g*
I saw it! (And yeah, real hardship. My life, SO hard. ::hand to forehead::)
I'm reading that as a momentary memory, just a brief flash, and a teeny anvil to remind us what Dean is afraid of (or at least one of the things).
I just re-watched the last 5 minutes, and yes indeedy, there is a yellow flicker that cannot be explained away as a sun flare. They even used a music sting to emphasize it. But I have to agree with Amy's interpretation: a momentary memory, just a brief flash, and a teeny anvil to remind us what Dean is afraid of (or at least one of the things).
I hope that's all it is.
I know everybody's waiting for the big throwdown between the brothers, but honestly? I don't want it to be Dean and Castiel facing off against Sam, Ruby, and the armies of hell. I don't want Sam and Dean on opposite sides. Sam never wanted that, he begged Dean to *kill* him before he became that. And it *would* kill Dean to face off against his little brother.
I'm afraid that's where we're headed, though, and that yellow eyeflash is another signpost.
