Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I'll have to watch it again!

Such a hardship, I know. *g*

Because books.

I saw it! (And yeah, real hardship. My life, SO hard. ::hand to forehead::)

I'm reading that as a momentary memory, just a brief flash, and a teeny anvil to remind us what Dean is afraid of (or at least one of the things).

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

I just re-watched the last 5 minutes, and yes indeedy, there is a yellow flicker that cannot be explained away as a sun flare. They even used a music sting to emphasize it. But I have to agree with Amy's interpretation: a momentary memory, just a brief flash, and a teeny anvil to remind us what Dean is afraid of (or at least one of the things).

I hope that's all it is.

I know everybody's waiting for the big throwdown between the brothers, but honestly? I don't want it to be Dean and Castiel facing off against Sam, Ruby, and the armies of hell. I don't want Sam and Dean on opposite sides. Sam never wanted that, he begged Dean to *kill* him before he became that. And it *would* kill Dean to face off against his little brother.

I'm afraid that's where we're headed, though, and that yellow eyeflash is another signpost.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

What Bev said. In fact, so much so, I just rewatched the ending of Becoming Part Two because I was paralleling Dean biting his lip with Buffy telling Angel to close his eyes.

Now I'm afraid for the boys.

Sam never wanted that, he begged Dean to *kill* him before he became that. And it *would* kill Dean to face off against his little brother.

Croatoan Dean would have put his hands at his side and said, "I won't fight you." It will be interesting to see how far Dean has come from that episode. He told Jamie he sees things differently now. I wonder if that applies to not wanting (or really being able) to live without his brother.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

The episode was fun, and the interaction between the boys was great. But. Their plan to scare Luther and get rid of him? Beyond dumb. I know, I know, handwavy handwavy, but re-enacting Luther's death wouldn't scare him into leaving, it would make him more angry/determined for revenge.

sighs, waits for everyone to stop with the eye-rolling and the sidelong glances

I know. I know. I pick the goofiest things to nitpick.

I like your goofy nitpicking. You often pick up on things I just accept and gloss over, so I like the, "Hey, wait--" I get when you pick up on something I missed. Not so goofy.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

The way they got rid of him squicked the hell out of me, actually, and left me a bit upset. I just could have done without the visual there, and felt that it played out in a way that was not weighted enough for the degree of ick. I freely admit that that particular brutal kind of killing is the one I probably find most horrific and awful.

The lip syncing, however, was priceless.

Also, in addition to my paranormal/magic nitpicking: I'm SO not happy about the squicksome car-dragging and all of the overtones and baggage that carries. And really, did they need to show two different versions of it?

The character interaction was, like I said, fun. But the solution to the main plot bothers me on a lot of levels.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Yeah, I could have done without that too. I also thought the ep as a whole wasn't well written.

I did love the Dean stuff though-- JA was clearly having much fun.
