"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I used to have those dreams. I absolutely couldn't watch that part of the show.

Yeah, I, uh, couldn't watch the teaser. My anxiety dreams manifest themselves in teeth issues, hi. And I may have done some fast-forwarding through the maggots.

Because books.

The teeth didn't bother me. The maggots, on the other hand ... I still can't watch the Cordy scenes in What's My Line.

Art Crawl!!!

I didn't get extreme violence from the scene where Dean kills the Phoebe!Demon - it just seemed like he thought the knife wasn't working properly - like playing with the antenna to get a better picture on your tv.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I think I need to rewatch this ep, fast forwarding through the gross stuff and the bad special effects/editing, and focus on the meat of the story.

Maybe that way I won't kind of dislike the ep a whole lot.

eta: I thought that scene was extremely violent, but it seemed fitting with the violence the demon had just done, especially considering and how it called back to the YED doing the same thing.

I do wish that the witches really had been gender non -specific. Why not have a man or two in the coven?

Because books.

What is it you dislike? The women/witches thing?

After time to think (because on first watch, I'm always simply squeeing that there are BOYS! on my TV!), I don't think this was a really strong episode, but I didn't dislike it. And there were a few things I liked very much.

Not the least of which was Ruby calling Dean "short bus". Heh.

That was part of it, yes. I also thought it was unnecessarily gross, and the editing was sloppy in a few parts. I like Ruby a lot more when she is not sympathetic. I thought Dean talking time out from being pinned to the wall to leer at the lesbisdemons was a cheap cliche.

Most of all I am just not sure I like where the story line is going, especially since we won't be getting a full season for it to develop.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

that made me snort. especially when he didn't have a comeback.

Art Crawl!!!

Oh, and for an episode that was supposed to explore Ruby's backstory - we really should have seen more of Ruby, no?

Amy - Feb 01, 2008 6:01:16 am PST #5943 of 10002
Because books.

I like the idea of Ruby being sympathetic, but I don't know if I believe her. She could be playing both of them.

I don't know where the storyline is going anymore. I had my own ideas at the start of the season, mostly about where it *should* go, but now who knows? And that's the shame of it, because certain things got set up pre-strike that they're going to have to either wank or shorthand or just ignore.

I think the thing that least impresses me is this idea of a huge *war*. And powerful LesbiDemon is hanging out with wanna blessed-bes whose main objective is lower mortgage rates and craft contest wins? I don't get it.

I also think it's worth noting that apparently Sam isn't looking for a way to save Dean anymore.

... okay, then!
