Look, I'm all for it. But I don't like tossing out our rules for something that's not particularly time sensitive.
First of all, there's no rule that says we need to vote on posting a link. Secondly, showing support is about as time-sensitive as they come.
Also, I think we lead by example. Maybe other fandom boards that see us jump to support the writers will do the same.
I'm with the "do it now" folks, but perhaps we could post in press and ask if there are any objections?
I know I was just getting all mushy over in Minearverse, but this seems fairly in line with who we are.
Fans4writers is looking to sustain support for as long as the strike lasts. I suspect support will be welcome whenever it occurs.
I posted a link in Press that a discussion was happening. If it seems biased or unfair to anyone, please let me know, and I can change, edit or delete.
We're talking about an alliance of sorts with a group that has no Buffistas in its governing board.
If, for example, F4W were to toe tap someone under a bathroom stall and all hell broke loose, we'd have a (loose) affiliation with that.
OTOH, it's a freakin' logo.

My personal opinion is go bullshit consense, choose bullshit consense, but we have these rules in place.
I totally support the idea. How about bullshit consensus, subject to a confirming vote. (I.E., yes we agree that the action you took on our behalf really represents our opinions.)
As much as I'm usually for following protocol, I'm not averse to bullshit consensus in this case.
fyi, lexigeek is one of the main people who saved the Browncoat con after those other lying liars people took the fans money and ran. so i trust him.

True, but it's not really an alliance - more of an endorsement. And although we're mighty, we can't be everywhere.

Well, we can definately consense on asking for the icon. Does anyone want to make the request, and perhaps ask for a time frame (like, if it takes a few days, we might as well vote.)
