Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I totally support the idea. How about bullshit consensus, subject to a confirming vote. (I.E., yes we agree that the action you took on our behalf really represents our opinions.)

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

As much as I'm usually for following protocol, I'm not averse to bullshit consensus in this case.

Visilurking

We're talking about an alliance of sorts with a group that has no Buffistas in its governing board.

True, but it's not really an alliance - more of an endorsement. And although we're mighty, we can't be everywhere.

I really like the post the icon first, vote later idea.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Well, we can definately consense on asking for the icon. Does anyone want to make the request, and perhaps ask for a time frame (like, if it takes a few days, we might as well vote.)

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

OTOOH, we're making a change to our masthead.

This is the only part I'm concerned about doing without a vote. I'm not opposed, but I think we need to respect our process.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Isn't that kinda the *entire* part?

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Yeah, that's the entire part.

After that, individual Buffistas can contribute however they like, or even do something as a group to file with the f4w site.

Just guessing here, but I don't think there is much turnaround to adding the name to the icon... unless we wanted to try to talk them into using our font for the Buffistas part which would probably require the help of one of our stompies. Just a thought.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

On the face of it, I am in support of the idea, I think most of us are. So I guess the question is do we vote or consense on this one?

We don't need to vote to put in a link, right? Changing the masthead is a bigger deal, but then again, this change would only be in place for as long as the strike (which yeah seems too long to me when I think about folks out of work).
