Could we consensus on it as a preliminary step, make the changes to the logo (or whatever is possible for the admins), and then have the discussion/voting? If it's voted down, we could revert back to the old logo.
Why the rush for a strike that's likely going to last months?
It just seems a little silly to me. "We're going to support you! In about a week, after we get the votes counted. Here we come, supporting you! Any second now!"
But if it's not an issue, that's fine. I was just looking for a compromise.

It seems tacky to be a (relative) latecomer to support the writers, when we could just do it now.

It doesn't seem silly to me at all.
Look, I'm all for it. But I don't like tossing out our rules for something that's not particularly time sensitive.
Or, could we consense on requesting Buffistas for the sign logo at fans4writers (which would make Cafepress stuff available in addition to the web buttons) and vote before making any changes to this site?
I like this. Individuals can express their support as Buffistas. The site can wait for the process.

First of all, there's no rule that says we need to vote on posting a link. Secondly, showing support is about as time-sensitive as they come.
Also, I think we lead by example. Maybe other fandom boards that see us jump to support the writers will do the same.
I'm with the "do it now" folks, but perhaps we could post in press and ask if there are any objections?
I know I was just getting all mushy over in Minearverse, but this seems fairly in line with who we are.
Fans4writers is looking to sustain support for as long as the strike lasts. I suspect support will be welcome whenever it occurs.
I posted a link in Press that a discussion was happening. If it seems biased or unfair to anyone, please let me know, and I can change, edit or delete.
