I think now the vote has to be closed.

I agree with Jesse. Voting was to be closed at noon PDT. It seems unlikely that the result will change, and there's no harm to simply leaving the thread as it is until it turns over. If there is a change in result we find out Sunday.
I actually think the vote needs to be closed as well, I just wasn't clear from the discussion here or in Firefly whether or not that was the case.
Oh, I meant it should be considered closed as of when Nilly posted the results.
When will we know this for sure?
Let's bullshit consense.
Oh, I meant it should be considered closed as of when Nilly posted the results.
See, I KNEW it was confusing...
I agree with this, but I think if we go the other way we need to make an announcement and take down the results. And I am not sure how we decide this except by consensus.
So, Nilly posted before the end of the election?
Oh, I meant it should be considered closed as of when Nilly posted the results.
Well, agree to disagree. IMO it should be closed as of the expiration of the period that is provided for in our rules, not at the choice of the vote-counter. But that's not going to matter unless there's a different result in this case.
I hadn't realized the thread was close to closing. Given the early results we may as well open a new thread.
IMO it should be closed as of the expiration of the period that is provided for in our rules, not at the choice of the vote-counter.
I agree in theory, and I think we should make sure that it goes this way in the future. I think our choices now are to either go with it as posted, announce that it has been extended, or declare the vote as invalid and start over. I think, since it has been announced, we sort of have to go with it, but I realize others disagree.
