I'd rather stay home and watch television. It's often funnier than killing stuff.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I still don't see how we can take their needs or wants into account.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

Although there is one type of person who meets ita's definition of NOT-a-lurker, but not victor's -- the person who has donated money to the board but never posts.

Well, there's always exceptions. But money talks, in my book. That's someone who has made an investment, in some form, in the site.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm lost. I'm surfing on Blackberry so humour me.

If you want to make changes (or not) to accomodate the people who have expressed no wishes, can you raise your hand? And also explain how you would accomplish it?

Nah. When they want something, they'll pipe up.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Still, what do we call the almost-lurkers? Lurkeresque?

Lurker-lite.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Okay, not raising hand. Just making argument for argument's sake, 'cuz *Buffista*.

I may have had some kind of point about the Lite Lurkers, but it wasn't terribly important, and I seem to have forgotten it.

when i die, please bake my ashes into a brick and use me to hit fascists.

I mostly lurk, so I thought I'd give y'all a lurker perspective, and this is: Wolfram is so right in that we're sort of *your* fans. I don't post much because a) I don't have a lot of time to spend here, so most comments in my brain are to old posts, and b) I don't feel I could ever be as witty as you guys are, so I'm a little reluctanct to post and sound like a moron. Since I don't post much, I'm pretty content to let you more-active folks make the decisions around here; I definitely don't feel like my wants should be taken into account when I'm not participating much.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Una, FWIW, please don't be afraid to post because you think you'd sound like a moron. The thing is, most of us feel like we sound like morons and yet we post anyway. That's the only difference.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

True dat.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And everyone feels like most of their posts get ignored!
