Yup, definitely. We love you, lurkers! Be happy! We're glad you're there!

I don't think my post created any group perception of resentment, but I can appreciate the concern.
I don't think my post created any group perception of resentment,
No--I mean, if just one person talked about it, it wouldn't ping me at all. But by now more people have talked about the resentment than have expressed the resentment, so I wanted to point that out (and, if I'm wrong, get corrected).
Sorry if I came across as snippy.
You didn't, really Jon, but thank you. I was having this moment of being all "OMG, I am being all Gang of 14 again, aren't I?!?!"
Not you, Sophia! IMO, Your posts are always caring and cool to read. Plus the added bonus of !Theater!
Doesn't mean they don't want to talk to people here; I think they just want some more focused threads to do so.
Seems I'm late, but for the most part, I barely follow the social threads. They move too fast for my taste, and frankly, the conversations there rarely interest me. But that's me, and I mostly live in the show threads.
I think it's wrong to marginalize the lurker perspective in the poll results
Can I just say I'm in love with the phrase "lurker perspective"?
That being said ...
Yup, definitely. We love you, lurkers! Be happy! We're glad you're there!
I'll be honest, I don't much care about lurkers. And if I know who you are, I don't consider you a lurker. Just quiet. Which is different. And there are some people who seem to consider themselves lurkers who aren't, and really can't be, because I know who they are. So I'm not talking about them. I'm talking people who never post, and never have. I don't even dislike them. I have no emotional attachment to hypothetical people.
I contend that once we know their perspective they are no longer lurking.
But I'm just repeating myself.
If they are still lurkers we can't know anything about their POV, and therefore it's silly to try and accomodate them.
And if I know who you are, I don't consider you a lurker.
So if they support you in email, they are no longer lurkers.

As always, ita says it better than I ever possibly could.
So if they support you in email, they are no longer lurkers.
No one supports me in e-mail, except, evidently, the people who try to sell me knock-off Viagra.
I think the confusion, as ita has pointed out, is that we are using different definitions of lurker.
