Caught a whiff of some why-do-the-lurkers-matter annoyance upthread, which pinged me so I thought I'd comment.
I've seen more reaction to the idea that lurkers who delurked are not worth considering than I've actually seen the espousing of the actual idea. I know Allyson mentioned something of the sort, but that's about it, to my memory.
Sophia -- I appreciated your brainstorming as well, even if I didn't like the particular idea. Sorry if I came across as snippy.
Okay. I just wanted to add my own comment to the reaction side and the idea that lurkers may actually be part of the target audience to every post.
I just don't want group perception to create a resentment to lurkers out of nothing much.
Yup, definitely. We love you, lurkers! Be happy! We're glad you're there!
I don't think my post created any group perception of resentment, but I can appreciate the concern.

No--I mean, if just one person talked about it, it wouldn't ping me at all. But by now more people have talked about the resentment than have expressed the resentment, so I wanted to point that out (and, if I'm wrong, get corrected).
Sorry if I came across as snippy.
You didn't, really Jon, but thank you. I was having this moment of being all "OMG, I am being all Gang of 14 again, aren't I?!?!"
