I am the fly who dreams of the spider

I figured that with that amount of pretty pretty men it would at least have the eye candy, if nothing else, but the characters just flitted in and out so much I stopped caring, only to be surprised that they show back up only to depress me with how their lives have been f***ed up and destroyed by the Zodiac killer. Boring and depressing!

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I can imagine. There are so many issues (not yours, mind, general issues of people in general) that get pinged with that movie.

Though I will agree that "What's in the box??" has become a catch-all phrase for me. Complete with pointing.

It's hard for me to articulate why I didn't like Se7en because I don't know what was so great about it. I didn't hate it, but my reaction was "What's all the fuss about?" I dunno, it has a couple good thriller/horror scenes and it's very pretty to look at, but there was nothing there for me to care about.

And then on the demerit side, it's got Morgan Freeman giving an inspirational VO at the end, which is never good. Plus, titles like "Se7en" and "Thir13en Ghosts" and "Numb3rs" are just 5tup1d.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Most people I know who didn't like the movie saw it later AND had a hate-on for Gwyneth, so they were mostly disappointed not see her (a) head in the box or (b) being decapitated.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Ha. Yeah, I thought it was...all right, but it never really justified its existence. It was just a TV movie with better actors.

This so nails my reaction to Zodiac. In the film book I'm editing, it's being used as the in-depth analysis example for the sound chapter. I wasn't struck by the use of sound, so I'm really looking forward to getting the draft and seeing what my author says about it.

That's odd, I think that might have been the first time I ever saw GP and really liked her in the role, and only later became annoyed with her in other roles (although I will always love love love Sliding Doors, but that might be my lust for John Hannah's accent flavoring that entire movie).

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I've just given up halfway through How To Lose Friends And Alienate People (DH is still watching because he needs to for his DVD column this week). It's a shame, because I like the cast, but it's really terrible.

However, I would like to point out that Simon Pegg's landlady when his character moves to New York? Is also Alphi's landlady from The Apple! And playing pretty much the exact same character.  Possibly in the same outfit. So at least one actor from that movie went on to work again! Good for her!
