Most people I know who didn't like the movie saw it later AND had a hate-on for Gwyneth, so they were mostly disappointed not see her (a) head in the box or (b) being decapitated.
Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Ha. Yeah, I thought it was...all right, but it never really justified its existence. It was just a TV movie with better actors.
This so nails my reaction to Zodiac. In the film book I'm editing, it's being used as the in-depth analysis example for the sound chapter. I wasn't struck by the use of sound, so I'm really looking forward to getting the draft and seeing what my author says about it.
That's odd, I think that might have been the first time I ever saw GP and really liked her in the role, and only later became annoyed with her in other roles (although I will always love love love Sliding Doors, but that might be my lust for John Hannah's accent flavoring that entire movie).
I couldn't stop myself: Ladyhawke promo vid
I've just given up halfway through How To Lose Friends And Alienate People (DH is still watching because he needs to for his DVD column this week). It's a shame, because I like the cast, but it's really terrible.
However, I would like to point out that Simon Pegg's landlady when his character moves to New York? Is also Alphi's landlady from The Apple! And playing pretty much the exact same character. Possibly in the same outfit. So at least one actor from that movie went on to work again! Good for her!
Nice one Juliebird! Waaaaay better than the original trailer. That's for sure.
weeee! I'm uploading a teaser trailer as I type. Once the bug hit and I began building a library to work from, I realized how ripe the movie is for trailers, got at least four or five angles left to work. So many good lines and imagery. And, really, the soundtrack is 50% golden, I've discovered (and I can't believe how many sites wanted me to pay to pirate music, the audacity!)
I also realized how very fake the hawk is that gets shot, which is funny and also a relief.
FYI, trailer is spoiler-free, if anyone wants to hook a newbie in.
teaser: [link] (a bit more rough and tumble, editing-wise)
just checked out the one trailer I could find ( [link] ) c'mon, it's not that bad! Wicked cheesy, true (mostly the voice-over. No sexy Movie Trailer Guy there. Sometimes I wish I had a boyfriend who sounded like D'Argo so I could create shortcuts to my trailers), but there's some good moments... erm...
I'm going to try to numberslut by saying that I think the new Wolverine movie may be potentially the slashiest thing I will ever have the privilege of seeing.
eta: Whee!
