I watched Indiana Jones last night. It took me a while to get into it but I did. However I think it took a weird turn (going to white font this just in case the theme I talk about spoils something)
into The Mummy and The Mummy Returns land then staggering (perhaps drunkenly) into Hellboy territory and then finally getting back on course.
However I liked Shia LeBouf (or however his name is spelt) and the character of Mutt much more than I thought I would.
I loved Indiana Jones because I have always loved Indy with a love that never dies. I recognize that the movie is deeply flawed and I choose to ignore it.
We're going to see Indiana Jones in a few. I'm not expecting greatness; just fun. Not even 10 tons of fun; just yay Indy.
From everything I've read of reviews, it's better than Temple of Doom, so that's all I need. I don't expect it to be as good as Raiders.
The movie was a lot fun, it didn't take me a bit to get into it, but it was a lot of fun.
I loved all the little references to prior films.
God, I love Viggo: [link]
Second the Viggo love.
Went and saw Ironman, today. I have one thing to say, RDJ has eminently lickable arms. Oh, and it was a cracking good film.
In how many ways does Tropic Thunder seem wrong?
[link]
RDJ as a black man. This I have to see. (and hopefully Jack Black and Ben Stiller don't suck)
A black (sounding) guy behind me at Iron Man said, "I don't know about
that
" after the Tropic Thunder trailer.
I can't check youtube at work but if Juliebird didn't link to the red band trailer there are copious more levels of wrongness to be had in
Tropic Thunder
. I get the feeling that wrongness is the point of the film. Robert Downey Jr is playing an Australian actor and I think the point of him playing a black character is that the Ozzies have already played every other kind of person so black is simply the next logical step.
