HA! That was great, Raq.
Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
I think if you're really curious about Speed Racer you could go see it up until the point where he finally jumps out of the car in the way you've been hoping he would. Walk out then and you really won't have missed much.
I love the Matrix sequels. This seems to bode well for my enjoyment of Speed Racer. Excellent.
On the comic blogs I read, a lot of people seem to be loving it. I suspect it is not for me, but I'm entertained by the review & comments at ISB here. Particularly this one:
Not only does John Goodman WRESTLE A NINJA, he remarks that they don’t make ninjas like they used to, implying a long CAREER of dealing out ninja beat downs. That’s GOLD.

Yeah, as much as I'm looking forward to the movie, I mourn the passing of one of my favorite Geek Games: Casting Watchmen.

Pops kicking ass was a great scene but then he had to go and say, "more like a NON-ja"
oh no my poor roommate has ordered a Uwe Boll movie through Netflix. He must have thought since it has Jason Statham in it- it can't be that bad. I just checked the ratings on imdb and one user review says, "who is Uwe Boll and what did we do to him to deserve this?"
Dear lord - I knew Jason Statham had done some crap movies, but which one did he do with the king of suckiness?
Oh! I know! It was that recent pseudo-fantasy one - In the Name of the King or something. It was based on a video game, of course. Dungeon Siege, I believe.
