Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

Yeah, as much as I'm looking forward to the movie, I mourn the passing of one of my favorite Geek Games: Casting Watchmen.
Not only does John Goodman WRESTLE A NINJA, he remarks that they don’t make ninjas like they used to, implying a long CAREER of dealing out ninja beat downs. That’s GOLD.
Pops kicking ass was a great scene but then he had to go and say, "more like a NON-ja"
oh no my poor roommate has ordered a Uwe Boll movie through Netflix. He must have thought since it has Jason Statham in it- it can't be that bad. I just checked the ratings on imdb and one user review says, "who is Uwe Boll and what did we do to him to deserve this?"
Dear lord - I knew Jason Statham had done some crap movies, but which one did he do with the king of suckiness?
Oh! I know! It was that recent pseudo-fantasy one - In the Name of the King or something. It was based on a video game, of course. Dungeon Siege, I believe.
yep, that's the one. The full title is In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale
the rotten tomatoes page for this film is hilarious.
"Uwe Boll isn't the worst director in the world, but In the Name of the King might be more enjoyable if he were."
I know that many of you already know this, but:
IRON MAN KICKS ASS!!!!
Oh. hell. YEAH.
I want to see it again!
As soon as it was over, I turned to the boy (this was after me yelling out, "Oh HELL YEAH! Nick Fury !!!!") and said, "I could see that again. In fact, I *should* see that again."
ION, I'm awaiting Jessica's take on Indiana Jones.
