Lydia: Its removal from Burma is a felony and when triggered it has the power to melt human eyeballs. Giles: In that case I've severely underpriced it.

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

exactly, Jilli! just like with my movie taste, it doesn't have to be award-winning greatness to get me to love it. it just has to be entertaining and these books certainly are.

I willingly watch Queen of the Damned. I giggle all the way through it, but I do own it on DVD.

question for you. did you love or hate Jacob?

I was ... exasperated by Jacob. Well, by his character archtype, I suppose. I thought he was okay.

No, I don't think I will - me, quoting Captain Steve Rogers, to all of 2020

I can't really say anything.

I willingly watch Judge Dredd. And while I do not own it on DVD YET, it's only a matter of time.

well...at least you don't hate him. that's an improvement. there are so few Jacob supporters.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Judge Dredd is underrated.

Cough.

Queen of the Damned, movie version, OTOH, is very pretty and makes me very angry. It's like a guide in how to heterosexualize yourself.

Err. Jilli's heard the rant. I'll stop.

I DARE YOU to say that to Pete. I think you can guess his opinion about the movie.

Oh, it totally is. But still amusing!

Err. Jilli's heard the rant. I'll stop.

But I like the rant. It's fun.

The ones they picked were some of the most inarticulate Jello-headed bimbettes ever.

"I, like, like Edward because he's like...a vampire but not, you know, like, all vampire-like. And the love is so...love-ish and junk. It's AWESOME!"

Oh yeah. Those interviewees were some serious closed-head-injury cases.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Judge Dredd is underrated.

Cough.

I liked Judge Dredd ! Also, Demolition Man.

And I will admit an inordinate fondness for the silly Queen of the Damned movie.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I don't know - I think it's more a case of tween/teenager-dom. Lord knows I couldn't have been much more articulate at that age if I had been interviewed about something I really liked (and I liked some crap. Young Guns, I'm looking at you).

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

And I will admit an inordinate fondness for the silly Queen of the Damned movie.

I love the book. Never seen the movie.

I don't think the book is quality *literature,* mind you; I just love it for all its bombastic crazy-ass excess.

Sort of like Moulin Rouge.
