Judge Dredd is underrated.
Cough.
Queen of the Damned, movie version, OTOH, is very pretty and makes me very angry. It's like a guide in how to heterosexualize yourself.
Err. Jilli's heard the rant. I'll stop.
'Jaynestown'
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

I DARE YOU to say that to Pete. I think you can guess his opinion about the movie.

Oh, it totally is. But still amusing!

But I like the rant. It's fun.
The ones they picked were some of the most inarticulate Jello-headed bimbettes ever.
"I, like, like Edward because he's like...a vampire but not, you know, like, all vampire-like. And the love is so...love-ish and junk. It's AWESOME!"
Oh yeah. Those interviewees were some serious closed-head-injury cases.
Judge Dredd is underrated.

I liked Judge Dredd ! Also, Demolition Man.
And I will admit an inordinate fondness for the silly Queen of the Damned movie.

I don't know - I think it's more a case of tween/teenager-dom. Lord knows I couldn't have been much more articulate at that age if I had been interviewed about something I really liked (and I liked some crap. Young Guns, I'm looking at you).

I love the book. Never seen the movie.
I don't think the book is quality *literature,* mind you; I just love it for all its bombastic crazy-ass excess.
Sort of like Moulin Rouge.

Exactly. That's why it's a comfort re-read of mine. Because when I'm tired and cranky and don't want to think, I want to read (or watch) bombastic crazy.

Plei, my sister.
We should have a crappy-90's-action movie marathon. We can do Judge Dredd and Demolition Man and The Last Boy Scout...
Judge Dredd is underrated.
Any movie that uses the phrase "send in the clones", and it's not an intentional laugh line, is doing...something.
OTOH, I do love DEMOLITION MAN. I just wish that Snipes and Stallone had switched roles. Stallone never would have gone for it at that point in his career, but I think it would have been great.
