I'm just, uh, just feeling kinda... truthsome right now. And, uh... life's just too damn short for ifs and maybes.

Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape

A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I just read that some right-wing shitweasel has decided to remake Straw Dogs because he thought it was flawed by the rape scene and needed to be modernized and Americanized. I shudder for the future.

Does the r-w sw have a name, or dare I ask?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

t random

Well, I'm a big idiot. I'm listening to "I'm Breathless" - the album for the music and blah blah movie Dick Tracy. My favorite song, "What Can You Lose" comes on and I'm listening and I'm like, "That sounds an awful lot like Mandy Pitankin. But I'd remember him in the movie. Wouldn't I?"

Turns out, no. No I wouldn't.

Now I love it even more.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Stephen Sondheim wrote the music for that movie.

Sorry, you're right. Specifically, he wrote the songs. Five of them, though I have no idea how many made it into the movie.

"Now I'm Following You" isn't listed on the sondheim.com site, nor have I ever heard it. It's also not on Sondheim at the Movies, which includes a couple songs he wrote for "The Birdcage".
