What kind of thing are you in the mood for?
I've been watching stuff that doesn't involve a lot of brain, like Princess Diaries 2 and Little Black Book and Ultraviolet and Blade. I don't think I could handle heavy material, which is why I haven't rented "The Good German" or "Capote" or "Good Night and Good Luck," all of which I want to see.
For mindless, violent fun, I always go with the '80s classics of Robocop and The Hidden. Robocop just came out in a newly repackaged DVD release with some decent extras, and since I don't already own it, I'm thinking about picking it up.
What about Split Second, with Rutger Hauer? That's good times.
"We need to get bigger guns. BIG FUCKING GUNS!"
Chocolate, coffee, and a guy named Dick Durkin, what's not to love?!
Jackie Chan!
Who Am I? Shanghai Noon
and
Supercop
are three of my favorites. Also for mindless popcorn fun I think you can't beat
A Knight's Tale
plus bonus: naked Paul Bettany!
I loved the hell out of Final Destination 2 last weekend. I'm sure they're all as deliciously bad/good.
Another Jackie Chan: Project A2, which has lots of Buster Keaton gags.

I was just showing Emmett the bike scene on YouTube last week.
I recommend A Fish Called Wanda for fun time-whiling.
I found
A Fish Called Wanda
to have many watch-from-the-hall moments. It is one of my favorites plus bonus: naked John Cleese but I wouldn't recommend it for mindless fun.
