Faith: A kid. Angel's got a kid. Wesley: Connor. Faith: A teenage kid born last year. Wesley: I told you, he grew up in a hell dimension. Faith: Right. And what, Cordelia spent her last summer as… Wesley: A divine being. Faith: Uh-huh. Can I just ask--What the hell are you people doing?

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Not normally a show I watch (the lead guy bugs me) but the take off of American Idol was funny.

yes, I see what you're saying, Shawn is very annoying, but I like a lot of the other characters on the show, so I put up with him, and sometimes mute or fast forward.

Art Crawl!!!

Did you guys watch any of the new Lifetime show?

The Lili Taylor one featured this guy as a child psychologist and he seemed so familiar but I was so sure that he was just reminding me of David Hewlett only with a Scottish accent that I was pleasantly surprised to discover that he played Sir Robert in "Tooth and Claw" on Doctor Who last year.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

I'm downloading Psych! I can't wait! It's my favorite! I'm pleased ya'll are getting into it as well, because it's so light and charming and funny, and then has these moments of real and astonishing depth. I heart it times a million.

Wow, my ahem of last week's Closer totally cut out the scene where Gabriel handed in his gun and badge. It's interesting to me that Brenda will not compromise, at all, when everyone else had made room for the fact of her compromising before she even really knew the full scope of things. It was such an old school-new school divide that I'm curious to see how it will play out with the other old dogs. I mean, Flynn and Pirenza regularly fuck up, and she rides their ass, but doesn't demand of them the same standard she demands of Gabriel. It's interesting.

yeah, they've screwed up, and she has covered for them, like when they found the body in the garage and decided to go to the game instead. But, I think that this was a little more over the top. Or, she might think that she has the chance to shape Gabriel, and they are lost causes. I still love that she called him her favorite.

Re: The Closer:

THEY'RE BACK. and it's awesome. the initial awkwardness was so well done. so adorable and yet excrutiating. You just wanted to scream "forgive each other!" so well done.

Favorite quote: I tried going to AA, but it turns out that you had to stop drinking entirely. That seemed extreme

My favorite quote too.

That little exchange just before they enter the interrogation room? And the smile?

Perfect.

Thrive to spite them

The Closer - as soon as I saw the remains in coffee cans and shoe boxes I knew that they were picking off Medicare patients that no one visited. The manager was creepy though, I don't know if those were the same justifications that he told himself or if he was just making it up on the fly to try and get a lesser sentence. I do love watching Brenda set a trap and the bad guys getting squished.

I haven't watched all of Ruby yet, I'm behind, but I got up to the point where Brenda was watching the tape and Prevenza and him admitting that he told Buzz not to get Brenda and to turn off the tape. Going on only this partial information, (and I did see the end where Gabriel turned in his badge) I think that she expected some of those actions from Flynn and Provenza but not Gabriel, when they talked she hadn't seen the tape and didn't hear how the perp was goading him so this must have seemed really out of left field for her at the time. It also might have seemed like a betrayal for her, because Gabriel's supposed to be the one she trusts not to do stupid shit Flynn and Prevenza, he's supposed to be smarter than that.

And he did screw up their case, I don't think I've seen (or at least I don't remember) the case Vortex referenced, but what Gabriel did totally destroyed their case. Because they didn't get any kind of confession from him and it wouldn't be admissible in court.

Actually I was kind of expecting Brenda to say something to Gabriel about his promise to bring Ruby home, it seemed like such a rookie thing to do and probably gave them too much hope.
