Played with Kaylee. Sun came out, and I walked on my feet and heard with my ears. I ate the bits, the bits stayed down, and I work. I function like I'm a girl. I hate it because I know it'll go away. The sun goes dark and chaos has come again. Bits. Fluids. What am I?!

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Do we know if they're picking right up from the last episode, or if they've moved a little further down the timeline?

Hec, I read that they are going two (?) years in the future; something like that.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Interesing, Frank! I'd kind of hoped that. Partly because I really want to see Hamm with late sixties sideburns and a groovy 'stache. So in about three more seasons, I reckon.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Frank's whitefont is confirmed in the MONGO HUGEASS AWESOME NYT article here: [link] (which also has many other nice tidbits, if no big spoils).

Heh. One article I read (I think it was in EW) said they hadn't decided which way to go with Draper yet - would he go with the times and embrace change, or would he be one of those who tries to keep with the old status quo past its prime.

In other MM news, I need a talking down. I pre-ordered the DVDs as soon as they were announced. And then they announced plans for Blu-Ray after the big format shakedown, so I cancelled the DVDs and ordered Blu-Ray instead. But I only just remembered about the nifty Zippo-lighter packing for the DVDs, which doesn't appear to exist for the Blu-Ray, and I am sad, but I don't actually want both sets.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

AMC is having a contest for a walk-on on Mad Men, but you have to send them an "audition" clip. [link]

Art Crawl!!!

From the Futon Critic:

AMC, the network defining The Future of Classic, announced today that acclaimed film actors Jim Caviezel (Passion of the Christ, The Thin Red Line) and Ian McKellen (Lord of the Rings, The Da Vinci Code) have signed on to star in the network's reinterpretation of the highly influential 1960's cult classic, The Prisoner. AMC is co-producing the six-part mini-series with ITV Productions and Granada International, with a worldwide premiere slated for 2009. The Prisoner, AMC's second original mini-series, combines a wide range of genres, including espionage, thriller and Sci-Fi, into a unique and compelling drama, and expands upon the network's distinctive cinematic approach to creating high-quality programming.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'd say something reassuring about McKellen's participation denoting quality, but, well... X-Men 3: The Last Stand.

I am so there. I've already drafted juliana to coach and direct me through it. Off now to gather up the details.
