Well, that was gruesome. Yay?

Lord knows they went there with Rescue Me, although I think we were spared Dennis Leary ass. They seem to want to show Dylan's every chance they get.

Just watched American Horror Story. Wow. They're trying a little too hard to be shocking and perverse, I think, but I do love Connie Britton.

I will admit that I think "Don't make me kill you again." is one of the best lines I've ever heard in a horror story context. The fact that it was Jessica Lange delivering it was just a bonus.

Oh, Jessica Lange was fantastic, too. And the maid(s).

There's a lot of interesting stuff in there, but they sort of threw it all at the wall on the first day. And I think they're overdoing the jumpy cuts and shaky camera work and sudden voices stuff, but maybe they'll pull back there a little.

I think Ben's nakedness might be a way to show how naive he is, but that might be assuming a lot.

Violet's high school nemesis was also completely overdone and unbelievable.

(3) For a second there, I seriously thought Gus was a cyborg and just thought "didn't see that coming"

I'm thinking the two henchmen placed the flowerpot by the pool to frame Walt, and then left while the neighbor lady was inside the house.

They're all dead now, yeah? So how will we ever know? Either way, the logistics of the actual poisoning are opaque to me. Maybe it's a coincidence and the kid ate the wrong berries all on his own.

I tend to think that Walt might be that ruthless and devious at this point. I'm not sure what I want to believe.

No. Remember last week, when Walt was spinning the gun? It pointed to him twice, and on the third spin...it pointed to the flower pot. That was how he got the idea. I couldn't believe it when people were suggesting that Walt had poisoned Brock, but it's true: he did it. He also sent his neighbor into a potential death trap. He also shot two of Gus's goons in cold blood. He also blew up Gus and Tyrus. I'm not sure how hard I can root for him next season, and I'll be interested to see what the hell they have planned for him. He still has further to fall, but, damn, he's pretty damn close to the transformation Gilligan promised from the beginning. I don't think he has any intent in "redeeming" Walt at this point, and with Gus gone, I think Walt will take his place as the actual antagonist.

And speaking of Gus...holy shit. About a minute before it happened, I realized what Walt's plan was, and I was practically hyperventilating waiting for the confirmation that I was right. And then when Gus walked out, I yelled at the screen, "HOW DID YOU SURVIVE THAT?!?!" But it was just an awesome death scene for an awesome character.
