But so far, Peter has been the Suit with the stretchiest behaviours (but unwavering moral code) and Neal, up until recently misled but didn't flat out lie to a simple question. I'll be sad if that's a) no longer true or b) Peter stops believing it.
Did anyone watch the Southland season premiere? I really liked it. I liked how they managed to play two different addiction storylines and keep them different, without actually apologising for either guy. Both of them fucked up, although the chronic pain slide into meds abuse is something I think about quite a bit--I don't know if you even have to have an addictive personality to lose control with that.
I used to be doped up every day, so much I couldn't see straight (I was going to go to the optician, but my GP told me to stop taking the morphine instead). I was lucky that I came off everything really easily. So Cooper has a lot of my sympathy, even as he's being a dangerous dick, and I was glad he took pride with him into the hospital. And great that his partner finally snapped and pushed him to take the step.
I like that Lydia got to keep going with Rodrigo. I might tentatively have shipped her with her partner, so this is decent.
And great to see Sammy back on the streets.
Not sure how I'm feeling about Lights Out right now. He's not precisely a magical Negro, more a magical Negro cult leader. When your trainer has to pacify your children when he leaves, and give them totems and hugs just because you fired him, it's a bit much.
I like watch Holt and Pablo work. Still reeling that Pablo is Lief's brother.
