I have just preordered. Can't remember the last time I did that for a series.
Something else I liked in the finale - when Johnny was beating Boyd. It wasn't all sexy choreographed to music with changing angles and such. There was no score, no moving, and the camera stayed still (IIRC). No flurry of fancy kicks and punches. It was clear that the punching hurt Johnny, too (physically). The only thing to focus on was one person, hurting another, on a third's orders. All three criminals, all three family.
I have had to ff through that beating scene between Boyd and Johnny each time I've rewatched it...up to 4 now, I think. As you say, it was so real, it wasn't entertaining. Appropriate to the story? Oh yeah.

And the audience knows that Johnny is following Bo's orders even though Johnny asked Boyd to step up and take the reigns a few days previously. So we know where Johnny's feelings are and they aren't with Bo.
This show kills me. I hope it didn't kill Johnny.
You know that when the 911 dispatchers see Rayland's number pop up they're like "Oh lord, here we go again."
There was a time that Raylan called in a shooting (and I'm away from the dvr so I cant check the quote) and asked for them to send an ambulance and the usual. I was thinking, "Raylan, that is only usual for you."

S2 got an episode-by-episode recap and/or discussion anywhere? TWOP is giving me no love, and I'd prefer to go over it episode by episode as I progress through the season....

They can totally leave John and Bo alive if they want to.
We assume Bo is dead because he is not moving, but if he is not dead, he could have sufficient survival instincts to play possum. For John, as others have said, survival would require being found and administered anti-biotics soon. And still the odds would not be good, but not zero.
If Bo did survive, he might not go to jail if John is dead. Killing John? His lawyer could make the case that was Raylan and Ava. Kidnapping Ava, and trying to shoot Raylan? Same lawyer could argue that Ava and Raylan came out to kill him, he acted self-defense. Boyd's testimony? Boyd is batshit crazy, and evidence for this can probably be gathered. All the people in Boyd's church camp? Remembered, Boyd buried them. Could be argued that Boyd was the one who went even crazier and killed them.
Not a defense that I think would work in the real world. But in cop-show bizarro alterna-world where the system is stacked in favor of criminal defendents, and cops are continually martyred by stupid regulations designed to let the bad guys go free, it might work.
[Edited because apparently no fancy French spellings for the Crowders. When I was in Houston anyone I knew called 'Bo' was because it was a nickname. Or a term used to address strangers. People for who it was an actual name, were called "Beau" Or "Beauregard" by their parents.]
