"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Hec, thanks for the clip, I can't watch that scene enough.

I loved how honest Don was when he was finally caught. Not completely honest, but he didn't try to cover the truth or sugarcoat it as much I expected him to.

Also, did anyone else get the feeling that when Roger was talking about "The One", that Joan was his "The One" and that Jane is a substitute?

ITA, and I said as much to TCG before I came here to see what others thought of the episode.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Holy shit, Mad Men. Damn, Don. DAMN, Joan!! Phew.

I don't get serious, per se, but would have too many expectations of Roger. With Jane, he has a beautiful girl on his arm who doesn't ask questions, and doesn't want too much of him.

I agree with this. I think he really just wants to have fun in his personal life.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Whew. And that's not the season finale.

It was so unsettling to see Don at a loss and flustered. I completely forgot about the teacher waiting out in the car until Don and Betty were more or less resolved and going to bed.

And she wasn't furious about being left and having to haul her suitcase back home on foot!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I think Suzanne went into the affair expecting to get hurt. I'm getting a bit of a self-flagellation vibe from her, frankly.

During the wait, she might have noticed multiple lights on and off in the house and figure out that Don's expectation that his family was away for a week had been cancelled.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

My impression was that Suzanne has been through this before - she was the one who initially hit on Don, and she was the one who explained the risks to him about cheating with someone in the neighborhood. So I'm guessing she wasn't terribly surprised.

That's my guess, since she asked Don if he got caught when he called the next day.

I wouldn't be surprised if she turned into the pathetic stalker ex. Not crazy, just always where Don is, overly familiar with the kids, etc.

Oh, it's totally in character for Suzanne to do exactly as she did, it's just sad that she's so okay with being marginal.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I don't feel sad for her. In fact, I hope that's all we're ever going to hear again from her vacuum of a character.
