I think Suzanne went into the affair expecting to get hurt. I'm getting a bit of a self-flagellation vibe from her, frankly.
During the wait, she might have noticed multiple lights on and off in the house and figure out that Don's expectation that his family was away for a week had been cancelled.
My impression was that Suzanne has been through this before - she was the one who initially hit on Don, and she was the one who explained the risks to him about cheating with someone in the neighborhood. So I'm guessing she wasn't terribly surprised.

That's my guess, since she asked Don if he got caught when he called the next day.

I wouldn't be surprised if she turned into the pathetic stalker ex. Not crazy, just always where Don is, overly familiar with the kids, etc.
Oh, it's totally in character for Suzanne to do exactly as she did, it's just sad that she's so okay with being marginal.
I don't feel sad for her. In fact, I hope that's all we're ever going to hear again from her vacuum of a character.
I hope you're right Cor. I hated that plotline.
I think that we're going to get the pathetic stray, and Don's going to be mean to her.
I don't care to see more of her, but I find her behavior so peculiar, she's kind of interesting to me. Like an exotic animal.
