Don's really good with kids when he wants to be.
Cable Drama: Still Waiting for the Cable Guy to Show Up with the Thread Name...
To be determined... (but it's definitely [NAFDA])
Holy eff how did they raise James mason from the dead?
So, this was definitely my favorite episode of "Mad Men" this season and might be one of the top in the series thus far. I loved the looping back of references (e.g. the mention of the play being a tragedy that had a happy ending, the Twain, the weirdass snake gift, Don's mention of a snake), the unexpected humor. This fired on all cylinders. I think I'm going to watch it again right away which I haven't been doing.
I also kind of predicted some things that were going to happen (when I saw them running around on the lawn mower, I ducked my eyes behind my hands and I prayed for Joan and Peggy's safety).
(edited for clarity!)
I liked the disclaimer that got thrown in.
You mean the one that Kenny shouted, or was there something else?
Damn, I missed what happened to Pete! My sister interrupted me with a job possibility. I"ll have to try and catch it elsewhere!
eta...I guess it wasn't Pete who had the horrible accident after all. Nevermind.
It's all fun and games until somebody loses a foot!
Best ep yet this season, even if I am still having sympathetic foot pain. shudder
Plus, Grampa Gene back from the grave, to threaten Sally!
Also? When my brothers were born, which was the same era, I was given "gifts" from my new siblings. And my reaction was much the same as Sally's: "Babies can't write! Babies can't go to stores!"
(Now in the age of the intertubes, even my cats can order presents.)

Yes, cracked me the hell up. I kept thinking about how the garbage disposal people got all up in arms over Heroes first season.

Wasn't it Chekov who said if you introduce a John Deere mower in the first act it needs to run over someone's foot by the end?
(when I saw them running around on the lawn mower, I ducked my eyes behind my hands and I prayed for Joan and Peggy's safety).
Yeah, those are the two I was holding my breath for, but the way it played made so much sense, story-wise.
Yep -- held my breath, too.
