Nate drinks not just in a few episodes, but in every single one.

To be determined... (but it's definitely [NAFDA])
I liked the way the alcoholism was done, and it made sense to me that every victory for the team might make his drinking just a little bit work. Nate can fix everyone else's life, but his son is still gone.
It's a nice note for his character. If he can have a drink in his hand, he does. And even when it's demonstrated that it's a problem, physically, at least, he goes right on like he has been, same functional brokenness, not ready to fix. I like it.
John Rogers said that as a TV writer he was very qualified to write a functional drinker. I was surprised to realise he'd been drinking every episode--just another way rewatching the entire season paid off. I can't say it's the show's fault I didn't notice the first time round.

Sort-of how Rusty is always eating in Ocean's 11.
Do we talk Breaking Bad here? This season has really sucked me in. I'm loving Walt and the confidence/ identity he's getting from his drug life. I mean, you know it can't end well.
We do!
He's so good under pressure, finding out he may not have such an early deadline has really messed him up.
It's kind of funny, isn't it? Although I may be horrible, Salon had an article once by a guy with AIDS, you know, who did the dying vacation deal, spent his insurance, and then came home to find that his count was up and he was gonna live. I felt for him but I still snickered.
Eeeeee! Now I understand all the crazy squee after "The First David Job"! That was crazy shit. Aaaahh!! And, seriously, that wasn't the finale?? I'm afraid for the next episode!
The meth addict Walt met in the store last night was played by our neighbor, who is mainly a stand-up comic, continuing Breaking Bad's mission of taking funny people and putting them into bleak dramatic roles.
