Did they make it clear that Close had the dog and the fiance killed? I mean -- I guessed the dog right away and then they showed her tossing the collar into the bay but did I miss them showing the murder?
Cable Drama: Still Waiting for the Cable Guy to Show Up with the Thread Name...
To be determined... (but it's definitely [NAFDA])
I don't think she killed the fiance, just the dog. I think the fiance's death is a mystery. On the other hand, she was walking out of Close's building-- it's in my neighborhood somewhere. Either that's an error (doubtful, since they had the establishing shot in the lobby with the housekeeper) or we'll figure that out later in the season.
I'm not sure whether I'll keep watching. I guess it benefits from the summer, but it was kind of silly. I wish I had the "Next season on..." clip because the OTTness pretty much sums up the show (lots of people commanding things in deep dramatic voices, like 24). And it goes without saying that it's not a show that very realistic about the practice, plaintiffs' firm or no.
Haven't watched damages yet, but hope to get to it tonight. Goddamn, my Tivo's filling up fast these days.
I'm still digesting why I didn't like Saving Grace.
I have a list of reasons. It's very long.
Thankfully, I can report that I liked Damages. I've been mostly disappointed with the new series that have debuted this summer. Mad Men and Burn Notice are the only two, up until now, that haven't been permanently deleted from the DVR schedule.
I will say that it tickled me that Glenn Close's husband was played by Michael Nouri because he is such a tv drama guy and she is a Movie Star.
And that when they ran the opening credits there was only ONE name that I had never heard of - - that just never happens with new tv shows.
You know, I love summer tv. Just in general. It's so chill, easy to watch, easy to get your hands on. It's often high quality, and even though there's less of it, you still feel like you're watching quality tv. Summer tv is way better for me than fall, when I feel like there's so much tv my head will explode.
OMG! I was just looking up Mad Men, as I was unfamiliar, and one of my classmates from college is in the cast! She lived on my floor freshman year.
No way!
Which character?
Maggie Siff, who plays Rachel Menken.
Cool.
