Is anyone watching The Closer? Because this is a really funny episode.

To be determined... (but it's definitely [NAFDA])
I didn't like The Closer last night, and I didn't like Saving Grace much either. I think I was in a bad mood or something.
I thought that the humor in The Closer was way over the top, and that the character of Brenda suddenly became an incompetent parody of herself.
I'm still digesting why I didn't like Saving Grace. Laura San Giacomo looks good in glasses, though.
The Closer toook a weird turn at the end, not the fight in the murder room, but with the doctor and Brenda and Fritz's and Brenda lying on her bed.
Is this supposed to mean she's got some serious health issue?
Personally, I was guessing hot flashes.
But I didn't really find this episode of the Closer funny -- not like the funeral/wedding one.
Okay, people talk about the accent thing on The Closer alot. ALOT. It is funny to me that in Saving Grace we have Oklahomans: Grace - who apparently has Holly Hunter's natural Georgiaa accent and her brother, the priest, who I thought lost his accent at the seminary except that their nephew doesn't have an accent either.
The end of the Closer was indeed odd, but I thought of it more of a pregnant drop than anything else. At least, that's what the setup seemed to me. It was sweet of Fritz to throw his weight around to get the doctor to come to their house.
I thought it was funny--the stuff in the suits was amusing, and the bit with the Really Tall Hit Man and the camera was also amusing--he just did exactly what she said, no problem! But I think this episode was to round out some earlier plot points--ie the bomb squad identification--and bring up some new ones--whatever is wrong with Brenda.
Just got done watching Damages. I absolutely hated the beginning, and I thought that the sex scene was overly drawn out and unecessary but I think that I will like it. Glenn Close was very good.
I also enjoyed Damages, but I am still horrified and nauseated by the killing of the dog. Pet death and I do not get along.
Very much agreed that Glenn Close was fabulous.
Did they make it clear that Close had the dog and the fiance killed? I mean -- I guessed the dog right away and then they showed her tossing the collar into the bay but did I miss them showing the murder?
I don't think she killed the fiance, just the dog. I think the fiance's death is a mystery. On the other hand, she was walking out of Close's building-- it's in my neighborhood somewhere. Either that's an error (doubtful, since they had the establishing shot in the lobby with the housekeeper) or we'll figure that out later in the season.
I'm not sure whether I'll keep watching. I guess it benefits from the summer, but it was kind of silly. I wish I had the "Next season on..." clip because the OTTness pretty much sums up the show (lots of people commanding things in deep dramatic voices, like 24). And it goes without saying that it's not a show that very realistic about the practice, plaintiffs' firm or no.
Haven't watched damages yet, but hope to get to it tonight. Goddamn, my Tivo's filling up fast these days.
