Cable Drama: Still Waiting for the Cable Guy to Show Up with the Thread Name...
To be determined... (but it's definitely [NAFDA])
Did anyone watch Halt and Catch Fire last night? The premise doesn't sound like my cup of tea, but Lee Pace you know (myloveissopure-though not pure enough for Marmaduke, even I have my limits). I've got it on the DVR, but I was curious for any reactions.
Epic, I recorded it, but I'm also waiting for reactions before watching.
ET,
we watched it in our household and the pilot is BORING. I have pretty high regard for Lee Pace and I wish he were in another vehicle.
I haven't watched it yes, but it combines several of my favorite things (Lee Pace! Computers! The 80s!) so I'll probably stick with it even if it's terrible.
Ok, H&CF was pretty terrible, but as I predicted, it's pretty terrible in lots of ways I like. Hopefully it will turn soapy rather than dull.
Hlt was pretty cliched but I'm hoping it'll improve. I mean Lee Pace right? I've been seeking out interviews with the showrunner just trying to get a sense of what they're trying to do and the biggest WTF I found so far is a long paragraph where he's talking about how he and all the writers are excited about the idea that the psychopathology of the people working in computers is put into the machine that they're working on? WTF WTF. his hand wavy other example is the Zuckerberg creating Facebook because he couldn't get a date. I should just give up right now. Except Lee Pace! and Scoot what's his face has a good resume, and two female computer professionals out of four primary characters. Mary Stuart Masterson hair!
I'm finally getting caught up on Fargo (an episode behind at this point), but OMG this is so much fun. Tense as hell at times (that stalk and shoot in the white out was superb), but also hilarious in a very Coen Brothers way (the Key and Peel Feds leading into the whole massacre in Fargo shot from the outside of building - brilliant AND cost effective). I was finally glad to see Billy Bob's character lose his composure a little in the whiteout scene and hope to see more of that in the future, hopefully with Molly and Gus as the source of his discomfort.
Side note: I can't believe how much Colin Hanks is starting to look like his dad. Also, I love the character of and actress playing his daughter.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME, FARGO?!?
Was that to the "One Year Later"? Because lord knows that was my reaction to that particular revelation. OMG this show is so much fun in a nasty, nasty way.
No, that was actually a previous episode. I was on board with the One Year Later.
