And now my boy's in love. All hearts and flowers. But, doesn't it freak you out that she used to change your diapers? I mean, when you think about it, the first woman you boned is the closest thing you've ever had to a mother. Doing your mom and trying to kill your dad. Hm. There should be a play.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

God, it was clearly good I spent those years outside the US...

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I just did a cursory glance at pictures from the show, and what is amusing to me is that they STRAIGHTEN Keri Russell's hair! But I am not sure I remember 1980 too clearly, because I was 7, and I can't think of anything that happened that year except for John Lennon being shot!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

It's mid-1981, since Reagan was just shot.

[Not that there was a huge leap forward in fashion from 1980-81, I'm just being nitpicky. I've been supplying a lot of the news footage for the show so I'm always minorly spoiled for the real-world events taking place in the background.]

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

Before that you had the Preppy Handbook.

Oh yes. I started my time at my university in '81, and I had never seen so many alligator shirts gathered together in one location in my entire life. And I remember the entire campus smelled like Calvin Klein's Obsession once it came out for men as well as women.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

And Drakkar? Or was that more 1985? I remember all the boys had Drakkar in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Drakkar Noir was still going strong in 1991. Man that stuff stunk, but no where near as badly as the Axe Body Spray!

Thrive to spite them

My brother wore Drakkar Noir I think through is graduation in 1993.

I stopped wearing Drakkar Noir in '90, I think.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Jason still wears Paco Rabanne, which seems to date from that era, too.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I usually default to Ivory soap and Sure deodorant rather than relying on cologne, but on occasions when I felt compelled to use the latter I started out with Old Spice in high school, then cycled through Pierre Cardin, Oleg Cassini, and now a knock-off of Calvin Klein's Eternity. (The soap version of the latter was what made my ex the best-smelling man I've been around to this day.)
