Because books.

He's got a fantastic voice. I'm not a huge fan of that kind of stuff, like Andrea Boccelli, etc., but he's got serious talent and he seems like a great guy.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, I generally am not into the pop classical, but he is really good and so nice!

Obviously Blake and Jermaine are my favorite duo, though.

I am such a sucker for a big solid man who seems like a nice guy. Ugh!

I loved the duet of Yesterday, but Soul Man was even better. Jermaine also has a fantastic voice.

On the Voice:

No one should ever sing I Believe I can Fly because it's cheese on toast, but if you must sing it, you should sing it like Jermaine because he tore it up.

I loved the Christina/Chris Mann duet. It was gorgeous. Chris sounded the best I've heard him, but Christina was amazing. That girl can just sang.

Poor Juliet. You can tell that her voice is not up to snuff.

I really enjoyed that Tony Lucca performance. I had no idea that 99 Problems was anything other than a Jay-Z song, so that was a fun surprise. I also love that X-Tina will just not stop hating on this dude no matter what. That is commitment.

Chris was good on one of my least fave Christina hits. I don't even know if The Voice Within qualifies as a hit. But I do love that even so far after the fact, Christina can still not let go of the Tony Lucca hate. Seriously, y'all. What did that boy do to her?

Juliet and Cee-Lo on Born to Be Wild was fun but she is just not up to par tonight. Sad, because I was really rooting for her to take it all going in.

Loved, loved the Tony and Adam Yesterday. The harmonies were absolutely gorgeous. Adam can really sing. I kind of forget that most of the time. Dammit, Tony is doing very, very well tonight. And after a whole season of hating.

Wasn't familiar with the Blake Shelton song, but Jermaine more than did it justice. I do believe if he cut that song as a single, he'd have a hit on his hands. Definitely worthy of the Steve Harvey Morning Show.

Chris Mann is not my cup of tea, but he did sound lovely on that Josh Groban song and heaven knows there's a market for it. He had a good night.

Blake and Jermaine on Soul Man were too cute. And they both sounded phenomenal. Good times.

Tony had a very good night closing on the Maroon 5 joint. I can see him making a record like that, but we already have an Adam, no?

Juliet definitely saved her best for last, but Freebird would not have been my song of choice for the finale and the pimp slot no less. Also, she didn't have everything in the tank she needed.

I think it's a toss up from amongst the boys just depending on what your favorite flavor is. With the MMC backing, Tony just might take it all. With the Susan Boyle/Jackie Evancho vote, Chris Mann just might take it all. With the A Keys/Javier holdover vote, Jermaine might take it all. I think only Juliet really has no shot.

Yeah, I have no idea who's going to win. It's kind of weird! I guess Tony, just for social media reasons?

I don't watch, but is the Tony you are talking about Tony Vincent? Because I feel like he is already famous, at least in theatre circles, so I think that it is weird he is on the show.

Nope, Tony Vincent got cut a few weeks ago.

Relatedly, there was a woman who didn't make it that far who had a video that was constantly on VH-1 a few years ago. I think it's interesting that they work with people who have had some success, but not All The Success.

That is interesting-- I actually worked with the costume designer for American Idiot (which Tony Vincent was in) and even though she was designing for Broadway, she also has not had "all the success" (hence her working in Rochester with me!)

Yeah, last year's Voice winner had put out a somewhat succesful R&B album with a couple of songs that got rotation on urban radio but he never really broke through. I was surprised to see him pop up on the show and unsurprised that he won because he already had a fan base going in and he could really sing. I actually really like that aspect of The Voice, that the almost famous crowd does not get shut out like they do on Idol. I think it's interesting, though, that even with the boost from winning the show, Javier still did not break through and become an R&B superstar. Makes me wonder if he is really just lacking that "it" thing that creates a star, because he's certainly talented enough based solely on his voice.
