That is interesting-- I actually worked with the costume designer for American Idiot (which Tony Vincent was in) and even though she was designing for Broadway, she also has not had "all the success" (hence her working in Rochester with me!)

Non-Fiction TV: I Reject Your Reality and Substitute My Own
This thread is for non-fiction TV, including but not limited to reality television (So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef: Masters, Project Runway), documentaries (The History Channel, The Discovery Channel), and sundry (Expedition Africa, Mythbusters), et al. [NAFDA]
Yeah, last year's Voice winner had put out a somewhat succesful R&B album with a couple of songs that got rotation on urban radio but he never really broke through. I was surprised to see him pop up on the show and unsurprised that he won because he already had a fan base going in and he could really sing. I actually really like that aspect of The Voice, that the almost famous crowd does not get shut out like they do on Idol. I think it's interesting, though, that even with the boost from winning the show, Javier still did not break through and become an R&B superstar. Makes me wonder if he is really just lacking that "it" thing that creates a star, because he's certainly talented enough based solely on his voice.
kat,
he lacks stage presence.
Crap, now I have to decide if I care enough to stay up til 11 to see who wins. It's a pretty good show so far, I have to say!
Hall and Oates! And Adam and Blake's bromance!
Poor sick Juliet, getting a little help! Nice.
I know it's different teams, but I can't believe Juliet made it over Katrina. SHE has a voice.
I will say, it's better than most Idol finales. More entertaining anyway. The piece on Purrfect was pretty funny.
amen to that.
I haven't watched an AI finale since the first (at least not from beginning to end). I get bored WAY quick.
Not "The Voice" finales tho.
I liked the way they did the song choices and performances last night, too.
