The Voice: Glad that Bev and Frenchie made it through. Well done on the Bev vote, America.
What is the point of these two sisters? I do not understand them at all. Why are they still here? Singing the Andrews Sisters? Off key the whole damn time? Wow. That was terrible. Terrible song choice, terrible singing, terrible Disneyland second stage performance. Just bad, all over bad. Cute outfits? I guess there’s that. Awful. These judges just lie. All the time. Oh, it was Adam’s idea. Well, why would you listen to your competition? He’s clearly trying to sabotage you. Christina makes it all about her as usual. And seriously, Christina? With the side braid and then the mini-braid just sprouting out the other side of your head? Oh, no. And will no one point out that blonde sister missed every single note in that song. Every. Single. Note. Back to the country fair for you, girls.
Casey – I do not enjoy this song because it reminds me of AI Katherine McPhee, but she is singing the heck out of it. She sounds amazing! And she looks really comfy up there. Yep, Adam has a team full of ringers. That was excellent. Best total package performance of both rounds. You gonna bring the critique now, X-tina? Really? This girl blew it out the box. OK, what was up with the messed up call in numbers? Are they gaslighting her?
Mmmm, Jolene? Intersting choice. Love this song. And this Vicci girl can sing. Damn, she can put it down. Love her voice. And she didn’t smile through the whole damn song like they always do when they try to sing this song on AI. Yep. She’s got good stuff.
I’m not a huge fan of this chicken little kid. He sounds very good here, but he just doesn’t do it for me. He’s like a little Adam clone, though, so I can see why he likes him. Still, he’s in tune, so he’s automatically ahead of the sisters. He’s just a boring performer. Despite what Adam told him, standing in the middle of the stage and rocking back and forth with the mic stand does not equal performing. And ooh, that last big note before sliding into the ending was bad. I might even dare say it was pitchy.
Cee-Lo group performance - They murdered harmony, revived it, murdered it again, cut off its head and put it through the wood chippers. The Sisters cannot sing. At all. Poor Vicci. Stranded in a sea of mediocrity. Oh, Cee-Lo. I thought it couldn't get worse than Blake's group last week. I was wrong.
I was glad Vicci sounded good...but wasn't sure if in that group number she was seriously kick-ass, or just "in comparison to the rest of them". I really think CeeLo was smoking something--he looked to be having WAYYY too good of a time in that 'fro wig with a bunch of crappy singers to be sober.
And this Vicci girl can sing.
Or as they say in my neck of the woods:
"that girl can SANG." For real.
I just about died with the Andrews Sisters selection. Hilarity ensued.
The Sisters cannot sing.
I can't decide if the fact that their thing is harmony and they can't stay on pitch is tragic or comic. I just want them to go away.

Vicci has been one of my favorites since the auditions. I'm not sure if I loved that arrangement, but I love the song and agree that it was refreshing to not see the normal bouncy version that you tend to hear everywhere (except for Me First and The Gimme Gimmes, who rock their punk version).
ETAsk: What is this crap song that Nakia is singing?
OK, I admit I've never heard this song before, but "your sex is on fire"? Sounds like something out of the Smart Bitches reviewing a romance novel and saying "THE STD BURRRRNS". But I do like Nakia, if for no other reason than that we rarely get to see a big gay bear on TV!
(WTF is CeeLo wearing? That JACKET!)
Is it me, or was Jeff Jenkins really disappointing?
I’m not a huge fan of this chicken little kid. He sounds very good here, but he just doesn’t do it for me. He’s like a little Adam clone, though, so I can see why he likes him. Nikia – Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon. I do not get Cee-Lo’s song choices. At all. Vicci is the only one who has been served well thus far and she bucked him and sang a song she wanted to sing. He sounds fine, but the song doesn’t suit him. And the two fire twirlers in the back both seemed either bored or stoned or both. But this kid has a great voice, man. He’s the real deal.
Jeff singing Jesus Take the Wheel? Damn, I love this song. Don’t fuck it up, kid. And he starts out flat. Well, that’s a shame. This song is really, really hard. People do not give La Underwood the credit she deserves. Oh, my. This is bad. Really, really bad. So under the pitch. It’s just . . . not good. Oh, he is murdering the big, glory note and he has no breath control so he couldn’t hold it. Which is better I guess since he was so far off the note. Look at his face. Aww, poor baby. He knows he was flat as a pancake through the whole thing. Why are the judges even on this show when they just lie so blatantly to these kids? Can they even hear? Maybe during the performances, they are secretly replaced by stunt doubles and head up to the V Lounge so Blake can get his sip on, Adam and Christina can finally just do it already and get it over and Cee-Lo can toke it up? So they don't really hear the performances and then they just come back and say something vaguely encouraging? That's gotta be it.
I was really disappointed by Jeff--he sounded good in clips and in his audition and competition, but...that song just sucked.
Is the fact that Adam's people have to sing with a whole choir mean he doesn't trust them to sound good on their own? :) (They're actually doing fine, I think) (OK, I wrote that before Adam bent in half and went 'yeahhhhhh" as if he were constipated) That boy with the faux hawk on Adam's team is awfully adorable, even if he was kinda dreadful in his solo
kat, I thought the earlier "I really liked the ...decor! the candles!" was an interesting non-compliment.
Well done, choir. That was a great performance. Adam's team was there, too. Shame you couldn't really hear them at all.
