Physics is good to know, you know...

Especially since some of the things physics does is pretty much magic, before you understand how they work.

As for me, yesterday was a fast ("9 of Av"), a day of mourning over the destruction of the temple (almost 2000 years ago). So today I'm still kinda head-ache-y and fuzzy and not much unlike a zombie who instead of saying "braaaaains" says "waaaater". But I hope that in a few more liters I will be OK (including a mental picture of myself being watered, as in, in a plant-pot, with my hands held up high like branches and leaves and my mouth wide open trying to catch the drops).

Oh, and my sister is getting married on Friday! I'm so excited, yet still lack shoes.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I don't know, even after the explanations, sometimes I think it is kinda magic.

Oh, I wish you hydration and am wishing your sister every happiness.

I think my plants do the "hydration" thing sometimes when I get really forgetful. I should remember to take care of them better than I do...

But it is! Just a different kind of magic, no?

Thanks for the wishes for my sister! Her soon-to-be-DH is a sweetie, so I think we're in good hands.

And I'm working towards the hydration thing! One sip at a time (at the end of fasts I have to deliberately stop myself from consuming a few liters at once. It takes practice, but I think I got it, in the last few years. Of course, Yom-Kippur-before-last, when my younger brother saw me drink the fist glass of water after the fast, he was all like "OK, so now I know how a junkie looks when he gets his drugs", but still).

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Hydration is good, now that I'm spending so much time at home I'm trying to remember it more -- at work, I'd stretch my legs by walking to the water coolerpurifier every time my bottle went dry. Here, it's not quite the same.

Theo! How is the job search going?

now that I'm spending so much time at home I'm trying to remember it more

In the university, I have a 2-liters bottle sitting next to me, so that I only need to fill it up once or twice a day. I always have a 1-liter bottle in my backpack. At home, there are always several bottles (filled and re-filled with tap water, of course, because I couldn't possibly afford buying this amount of bottled water on a daily basis).

When I bought a small purse, for going out and stuff, I made sure that I could put a 1/2-liter bottle inside, just in case. So that bag has a bottle of its own, too.

Why, yes, I do have a drinking problem.

[Edit: and now I've learned that I won't get my HP7 before yesterday, and nothing certain about that, too. No way am I going to finish it before the wedding, and seeing as at least half of the guest don't mind spoilers or actually seek them, and at least three siblings of mine, the bride included, are already reading the book, I'll probably have to spend half the day sticking my fingers into my ears and going "la-la-la-I-can't-hear-you". Oh, well.]

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

My sister was telling me that she ended up doing this yesterday at work when someone shouted across the office, "Hey, does Harry die in this book?"

Who thinks that's a proper question to ask before making sure it's OK with everybody?

I totally understand the people who seek spoilers, even though I run from them while covering my ears. My sister (who has a copy of the book) also ahem-ed a it (she's oh-so-very-much not as prudish as me), pretty much only in order to do a "search" of the word "dead" in it. Then, after she knew exactly who dies, she could settle peacefully to read the book.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Happy birthday, vw!!

And is it Kat's bday, too? I know things aren't going to get much better any time real soon, but I hope you get into a better place dealing with everything.

Oh, and my sister is getting married on Friday! I'm so excited, yet still lack shoes.

Heh. Yay for your sister!
