When I was dealing with mom's pneumonia, we kept a sheet in a notebook listing all the things we needed to ask/mention when we talked to the doctor (my father is a flake especially with medicine, mom was fever-induced delusional and at points would and probably did lie just so we'd leave her alone.)

msbelle, push back! Do not let them make you take on more because they are stupidheads!

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

No LJ, and I'm not getting email comments.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I reported yesterday (in Bitches, I think) that there was a small group of people outside the hotel protesting the spelling bee. Seemingly, one of them got stabbed a little while ago. No details - just what I heard when I went by.

Trust my rage

Any idea what is objectionable about a spelling bee? Any word about the Indian kid from Utah? I read about him in the nytimes a while back.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I sort of wonder if the LJ staff took everything offline so they could go hide in a dark room for a while.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Any idea what is objectionable about a spelling bee?

According to one of the Spelling Bee blogs I've been following, "the contest has drawn a good sized crowd of protesters who are demanding an increase in the number of words that are spelled phonetically. I kid you not."

hip deep in pie

I read here that it's a group for the phonetic spelling of words.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

The only thing I can think of during this whole spelling bee thing is "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee."

You've been the best-looking dude we've had all day
You're a real smart dude as well
Now go home and spell
Give your squeeze some affection
Go on, make a connection
Spell with patience and care
That, dude, is my prayer.
