I like books. I just don't want to take on too much. Do they have an introduction to the modern blurb?

Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I forgot to mention the hawtness of juliana!

It's sort of a constant of the universe, though.

Mostly lurking...

I'm just feeling like such a complete failure as a Christian today. Sitting here, listening to my grandmother talk about all the lives that were "fixed" with Christianity, and all you need is Christ, and blah blah blah blah blah, I just want to say, "Well, then?! What about me? What about all the freaking work I've had to do to be well? Where was God then????"

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Very true, P-C.

Teppy, let me know how the Bitch wine is. I've been tempted to buy it.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I was planning to go to H&M tomorrow after work - you want I should check it out?

Yes, please! If it looks like the skirt is even close to full enough, please see if there's one in a size 12 or 14. (14 would be better, but I can alter a 12 to fit.)

ETA: if there is, please nab it for me, and I will send you money through PayPal.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

{{{vw}}} - so not a failure, as a Christian or in any other way.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

"Cass's Concubine" is not a job.
Well not just a job, certainly.

(((vw))) I saw both. And parts of the religion is whack-a-doodly-doo as amych said so rockingly and succinctly.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Oh, vw. I totally want to be there to hug you and pet you and call you George and trade whack-doodly notes from another wing of the big Christian house, and also possibly slip your grandma a gently worded and deeply respectful but firm clue.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Sitting here, listening to my grandmother talk about all the lives that were "fixed" with Christianity, and all you need is Christ, and blah blah blah blah blah

And, with all respect to your grandmother, to that I say pshaw. In my experience, the people whose lives were "fixed" by Christ? Either 1) their problem wasn't all that bad to begin with or 2) they're just ignoring stuff and convincing themselves that if they ignore it, Christ "fixed" it. Or option C, they did a lot of hard work in addition to having faith and their faith was part of the fixing but certainly not the total picture.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Several people I know who claim to have been fixed by God still seem broken to me. They've just turned their life over to God so that they don't have to make the hard decisions and so that whatever happens, it's not their fault.

Our wings are not tired.

And once again, Ginger is me.
