Jayne: Captain, can you stop her from bein' cheerful, please? Mal: I don't believe there is a power in the 'verse that can stop Kaylee from being cheerful. Sometimes you just wanna duct tape her mouth and dump her in the hold for a month.

Spike's Bitches 36: Did I Sully Our Good Name?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I've seen true blue hand-of-God-miraculous-seeming-life-transformations. I'm sure they happen sometimes.

But I've seen a lot more that are more like the old joke about the guy in the flood who keeps turning down boats.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I also am irritated by people who say that God saved someone, and who don't count the hours of work by doctors, nurses, anesthesiologists, researchers and blood banks.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

Along these lines.... I have potentially good news. The doctors have switched gears a little, and instead of thinking it's a tumor they are now considering Infectious Disease. This may be awesome, but I've watched too many episodes of House and my dad has traveled ALL over the world... so easily treated Infectious Disease ma is still appreciated.

Mostly lurking...

Thanks, guys. I just did a little online retail therapy--shopping for the nephew. I have a splitting headache, but I'm doing a little better.

Compassionately intolerant

Oh, meara...that shock is awe-ful. Ugh. Oddly enough, I just came home from teaching a class, during which, I told the story of the one time I was fired. And, how it ended up being a great thing for me. May it be even more so for you.

Wishing you good choices!

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

back when I went to church - one of the oldest women in the congregation spoke one Sunday A quote that makes more sense than god fixing you " Faith is hard work" There is no such thing as not enough Faith. Faith isn't something you measure. As someone without faith, even I can understand that.

{{meara}} good decision making
